We've all been there feeling fired up to work towards our goals but then failing along the way. Not achieving a goal can be discouraging and might deter us from studying other meaningful goals. Instead of feeling discouraged when we don't immediately reach our goal, we should take some time and reflect on why we didn't meet the goal so we can learn how to grow from the overall experience.

A goal is a desired result that a person or a group of people envision, plan and commit to achieve. People always wants to reach thier goals within a finite time by setting deadlines.
The process of goal setting is when you have a specific objective in mind and then devise a plan to attain it, so that you may then go on to more ambitious goals that you hope to accomplish in your life. Every major goal you have will necessitate the creation of a detailed plan. The appropriate way to set goals is to create a strategy for success. To become the best version of yourself, you will have to move out of your comfort zone.
Is any goal too big or impossible to achieve.
Most people claim to understand the importance of setting goals to achieve a better life, but in reality, approximately 80 percent of people never set goals. This is especially prevalent among people who are not involved in some kind of business or entrepreneurial endeavor that encourages goal setting.
Even more surprising is that of the 20 percent of the population who set goals, roughly 70 percent fail to achieve the goals they set. And when you consider the fact that many of these people who set goals are aiming for easily achievable, small goals, it's a wonder that anyone can achieve anything remarkable in business and in life.
A situation were business professional sets thier goal, it likely a wealth goal or a relationship goal. However, success involves all four areas, and success means finding a balance in the four areas. In other to live a successful life, then you need both "to be" and "to do" goals in each of the four areas.
But before you jump in and set goals randomly, you need to know what pitfalls to avoid. The following are the top 10 reasons why people fail to achieve their goals. Avoid these obstacles and the goal will be yours.
Fear of success and/or failure
Some people fear that they will fail, or worse, that they might actually succeed. As such, they don't even bother trying to achieve the goal. Such people lack faith in themselves and their potential. In their mind, if they don't succeed, everybody will start thinking negatively of them. And if they succeed, people will envy them and think negatively about them.
No matter how they look at it, itsybecomes a Lose situation to them. Believe in yourself and your abilities, and so do others.
Lack of understanding of the goal setting process
Many people mistakenly believe that goal setting simply means putting a goal on paper, setting a date for completion, marking checkpoints as they occur, and then starting over. Such a mentality prevents people from succeeding because a goal is not a one-time thing that you eventually cross off the list.
Goal setting is really about changing yourself for the long term. Goals are not short-term things that can be fixed quickly; they are fixed and immovable destinations that show the world who you want to become or what you want to achieve.
Lack of commitment to the goal
Even when people say they want to achieve a certain goal, they haven't really committed to it. Because of this lack of determination, they do not give their full effort to achieve the goal. And as with everything in life, if you don't give it your all, you'll get average results. Determination is important to achieving a goal.
Inactivity
After setting a goal, writing down deadlines, and setting checkpoints, some people stop. In fact, they never take the first step needed to move toward their goal. But remember, if you don't start, you can't go anywhere. Nothing happens without action. So if you've made a list of goals and now you're wondering why none of your goals are coming true, ask yourself what steps you've taken to achieve your goals.
