Did you know the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) is currently employing? Details are coming up later in this post.

The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) is one of the federal universities in Nigeria owned by the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The school is situated in Ikot Abasi, a local government area in Akwa Ibom state Nigeria. In this post, I will be writing about the direction of the university, things that Ikot Abasi has as a local government area, Job openings in the university, and, of course, business. Let me begin by writing a bit about Ikot Abasi.

My Location when I was leaving for the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi

IKOT ABASI

Ikot Abasi is the home of the Federal University of Technology ( FUTIA), an academic community. It is a local government area in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. The university is not the only thing the Local Government Area is blessed with; there's also an Ibom power plant in the local government area that generates 685 megawatts of power, and it is one of the first independent power plants ever in Nigeria. Because of this infrastructure in Ikot Abasi, The citizens of Akwa Ibom state (Akwa Ibomites) did not experience power outages when the national grid in Nigeria collapsed a few weeks ago.

From the capital city (Uyo) of the state to Ikot Abasi is about 77km, which is about an hour and seventeen minutes drive. The local government shares common boundaries with the eastern Obolo local government area and the Ikpat Enin Local Government Area. The people in this Locality speak Ibibio as a native language, and English as Nigeria's central language.

Having known a little about Ikot Abasi, and the university, let us get to know the direction of the Local Government

DIRECTION TO IKOT ABASI

I have been to the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) on the 23rd of October, and I used Google Maps for directions during the journey. I have some screenshots from the maps and pictures, and I will give you a detailed direction to the place.

To get to the Local Government where the university is located, you need to first arrive at Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom state.

From Uyo to Abak Local Government Area, then drive the Abak Ikotakan road. This would take you to the Oruk Anam local government area, then the Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, and finally, Ikot Abasi Local Government Area.

The road to Ikot Abasi is tarred, though there are some bad spots on the road, but it's still motorable. As you travel the road, you would be drawn to nature, because there are bushes. The road is safe for traveling. If you find it challenging to drive to the local government alone, you can board a taxi from the Government's motor park in Uyo.

Thank you very much. Your hometown is beautiful, and I enjoyed my trip. Your place is a virgin land for businesses; how I wish I had the finance; I would have built hostels for students in the Vicinity. The university would bring development to your hometown. Thanks once again.

Very great for business, hmmm we hope for better times ahead.

Exactly.

Thank you for the post, it’s very informative! As a student, I’m always interested in new opportunities, and your write-up caught my attention. I particularly enjoyed the detailed information about the route to Ikot Abasi and the region's description. It helps to visualize what to expect if planning a visit.
Regarding the job openings at FUTIA – this seems like a great opportunity for graduates and young professionals. It’s impressive that the university is open to candidates with various educational levels. Also, the fact that applications are submitted physically might be convenient for residents, although having an online submission option would benefit others.
For those planning to apply, I recommend preparing your résumé in advance. The site https://craftresumes.com/resume-checker/ offers useful tools for creating résumés.
If you meet the qualifications, don’t hesitate to apply – even if you don’t get the job, it’s a valuable learning experience. Take this opportunity to build connections, gain exposure to the recruitment process, and enhance your skills for future applications. Every step forward brings you closer to achieving your career goals!
