Thanks to the contest organizers for coming up with such a great Topic to talk about. I will be glad to take you round my city.

My City is Calabar, It Is located in the southern part of Nigeria, located near the Cameroon boarders.
I will love to talk about some interesting things you ought to know about Calabar.

CULTURE
Culture, is a confirmed circumstances, where transformation is determined by the Achievement of socio-cultural creation. It is been passed to from generation to generation.
Efik is the main language spoken by Calabar people. They were known for their involvement with the slave dealers after the abolishment of slave trade they started the business of exporting palm oil.
It has a secret society which involves masquerade the masquerade can only be seen by initiated members non members don't have access to the masquerade as it is belived to be am abomination.
I love it for being among the best and interesting u have come across.
FOOD

Afang

The most common food in my city is afang soup with fufu or ponded yam.
ekpang, they use crayfish to make their meals more spicy. Meals like Ewewe were served to children and old people who don't have teeth to chew. Fish and meat is a major source of protein in calabar.
I have come to like all the meals eaten in calabar Because it has a very nice tatse and also continue lots of protein vitamin.

DRESSING The Calabar dressing comprises mainly of bright colours materials used to make different style of clothes.
They dressed based on the event or occasion for instant. During traditional Marriage the brides are beautifully dressed with shining piece of clothes one is won as a skirt that drops down to the brides knee and a small clothes covering her upper body.this type of clothes is selected just to show the brides waist.
The men dresses on wrapper and a white shirt with a colorful piece of clothes wrapped around their neck, and also wear beaded shoes and cap.
The interesting things I like about their dressing is the colours used in decorating the dresses.

MEDICAL SUPPORT
Calabar has one of the biggest Medical center in Nigeria, it has a teaching hospitals, it also have a healthcare where it deals mainly with the less privilege who can not afford to pay their medical bills. They take care of all health issues.
I have benefited from this health care as I was diagnosed of short sight and I was transfered to Calabar teaching hospital where I got treated and got a medicated Glasses.

EDUCATION
Calabar have several educational institution about 2 university,University of Calabar and University Of Cross River State. I am currently in my final year in school studying business Education in the state university.
and 2 college of education one at akankpa and the other at obudu both in the LGA of Calabar, with more than 100 secondary and primary school. Including school of health and other training centers .
All educational sector in calabar have adequate equipment and facility with competent teachers and lectures.

That's all about my city for now.
