The current state of the country is so disheartening, the prices of everything has spiked up within seconds and minutes, you can ask for the price of a good then another minute the price has gone up, without a given upgrade in the salaries and wages gotten, this has dealt with so many Nigerians and I would say there are complains all around.

The report I want to give is a nationwide report and I would say, we are all experiencing this. The Nigerian Labour Congress are currently on a strike which means no work.

STRIKE!!!

After staying at home for so many months at home due to strike, a 4 years degree program turned to 6 years a 5 years degree program turned to 7 years, you can't just write down plans on when to get into school and when to go out because ASUU will STRIKE.

It was a Sunday evening and we were all preparing to go to school on Monday because we had many lectures to attend, during the evening hours news popped up on my notification bar that NLC will be embarking on a strike, I expanded the browser and had a good read of what it is about, i then noticed that they were in meeting at that moment negotiating on the minimum wage and so on.

They agreed to a particular range of amount, I saw it as a very good motive because I have seen news of how much this senators are receiving monthly and it's in millions, but people that are teaching and working for many hours in a day can't even get a third quarter of their earnings, I saw it as a reasonable cry.

I saw another flyer that popped up, it was a picture showing an image which the NLC chairman told the Senate president, the text reads

  • "I will take care of your family feeding but you will receive a salary of N58,000 to take care of yourself in a month"

This is a very worrying case as the workers were not able to hold on again. There's a blackout in the country as the Electricity company has also embarked on strike, which means no light.

In my view, this won't really disturb the government because most of their children are schooling abroad so any case of strike won't affect them, they're using solar panels and big generators with full tanks of fuel which means they have 24/7 light irrespective of the Power strike. The high price of goods is not even their problem cos they get these goods in bags and they can pay any amount due to the huge amount they loot and earn.

Current Update on the strike

Some hours ago, the government came on to agree with NLC and it seems they will soon come to agreement, now the NLC has currently suspended the strike for a week Incase the government doesn't come up with a solution to the problem they brought. Which means the the normal activities will resume, we will be going to school tomorrow.

I'm still waiting to see light in our Area, omor this blackout sef. Does your Area have light?
