Now in India homes are being decorated with lights and rangolis as Millions celebrate Diwali the Festival of Lights. This is a 5-day festival and it began yesterday with Dhanteras. Dhan means wealth, teras is a festival of prosperity and abundance. So it is considered auspicious for making purchases. In India you will find shops jammed with people who are buying gold silver and other valuables and while this is common
practice there is more to Dhanteras than just the pursuit of material wealth.
Dhanteras coincides with dhanvantri Janti according to Hindu mythology dhanvantri is the god of medicine. So many people consider taking care of health which is the real permanent wealth of life.
According to WHO 50% of the wealth of a country is directly linked with the health of the Nation. A healthy Nation is obviously wealthy also. There is also a popular saying " Health is wealth and knowledge is power".
There were no such rituals about thirty years ago in our region. Nowadays due to the high price of gold people abstain from buying gold. So jewellers make lots of offers, beliefs and superstitions to buy gold for prosperity and fortune. One should not buy things in installments which may turn into misfortune if EMIs forces them to forgive essential needs and requirements.
There's suddenly another Junior Doctors Association emerged for the demand of Justice for Trainee PGT who was rape and murdered on 9th of August. They said to be backed by the ruling party.
In the meantime earlier Junior Doctors Front have decided to create a joint citizen forum to continue their demands for justice and improvement of the health care system and administration which is also supported by Senior doctors associations.
The Central Bureau of Investigation continued their inquiry and estimated a scam of 267 millions USD in the last ten years in hospitals.
Thank you for reading the post.

MODs Comment/Recommendation:
It's really interesting to see how traditions change over time, especially during festivals like Diwali. The focus on health during Dhanteras is a great reminder that true wealth isn't just about buying things. A healthy nation can really boost its economy, and it's cool how people's buying habits shift when prices go up, like with gold. Jewelers have to come up with new ways to attract buyers to keep the festive spirit going.
