It's always exciting to make post in a community like Steem4Nigeria. Before I start I would like to invite two fellow Steemians @crismenia and @joymm to participate in the contest.
A special thanks to @xkool24 for hosting the 51st week contest.
The 18th Indian parliamentary elections was held from 19 April to 1 June, results declared on 4 June. More than 950 million people were eligible to vote in seven phases to elect 543 representatives, thus marked the world’s largest democratic exercise. In our constituency it was held on last day of the last phase of election. It was somewhat peaceful except few stray incidents. 30th was the last day election campaign by the parties for their candidate in last phase of election on 1st June.
I happened to visit the Alipore Central Jail Museum on that day. It is a state government run Museum and situated in the word no 74 of Kolkata municipal corporation. It was under constituency of Kolkata Dakshin (Lok Sabha constituency). I was totally unprepared for the road barricade on both sides of the exit gate which is evident in the pictures I took after proceeding towards Gopalnagar crossings on right side.
One can see the Alipore Jail Museum behind the wall in the picture. I couldn't not take any photo on that day as my mobile charge exhausted. Anyways I returned home by a long diverted root. It was only possible because I walked about two Km.
It was a walk on foot rally by the chief minister for her candidates of the adjourning constituencies. She was accompanied by the candidates.
I didn't take photos on the election day because of election protocol. It is expected to be most expensive election ever held in the world before which will reach 1.35 lakh crore.
How can a Blockchain-based E-Voting Platform Facilitate a Fair Election in India
There was Loknath Bramhachari Annual Utsav at many places on 2nd June as it was his cremation day. The organizers distributed prasad khichri bhog to devotees. He was a big devotee of Lord Shiva. One of his famous temple is situated in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
