Greetings to all the wonderful members of @steem4nigeria and to their friends and lovers around the world. Today being 18 July,2022, I welcome you to my blog where I will be sharing some pictures with you, in remembrance of the past memories. Before I continue, I do love to appreciate @fredquantum for organizing this contest. I also appreciate this community for it effort towards progressing this platform in general.

Its absolutely true that pictures gives us a reflection of our past. It makes us to remember some of the activities and events that happens years ago. Some pictures gives good memories, while some reminds us of our bad days. Every picture comes with a story that either stick to our mind forever or just for a short period of time, but one thing is certain, whenever we look at any of our pictures, it always reflect us back to that particular event that happened in the past. Today I will be sharing with you some pictures that so much reminds me of my past.

when boys were dreaming to men

Gone are those days when boys were dreaming to a lawyer in the future, and gone are those days when boys never knew that Nigerian universities can change your dream and your career plans. The picture you see above is a picture we snapped back then in school. I was just a kid who was about concluding his junior secondary school. Because of my dream to become a lawyer when I grow, I was chosen by the school authority to act as a lawyer during our speech and price giving day. As you can see from the picture, I was small and short then. As of then I never knew I could grow tall as I'm now. You can see that the two ladies were even taller than me. But that's not the case today because I'm now taller. Last year, I sent the picture to the two girls beside me through WhatsApp, and they were like, is this really me? Hmm, they are now big madams, and are asheme to see their past pictures.

The journey to manhood

Oh! What a beautiful and crucial moment in my life. After days of prayers and fasting, here I'm to begin the journey that leads to destiny fulfilment. The picture you see above was snapped during my matriculation in school. On this particular day, I was so happy that finally I will be addressed as a university student. Family and friends came from near and far to celebrate with me. The feeling of I have arrived was all over me. As a university student, my friends respect me so much. They see me as someone above them. Nevertheless, I never felt superior to them because I knew they will one day be in the university too

After the battle that took me five (5) years

After many years of sleeping in class, running up and down for lectures, calling home for money to buy handout, praying days and night to overcome the spirit of carryover, calling friends to ask whether they have cooked or not, battling with ASUU strike, etc. Here I'm as a conqueror. I have conquered carryover and ASUU strike. And here I'm as a graduate who is obeying the clarion call. The picture above was snapped during our swearing in, in camp. As you can see, I'm on NYSC uniform. The day I wore that uniform, hmmm, words can't express some feelings. I was overwhelmed with joy and happiness. The journey from nursery to primary, secondary, university, and to NYSC camp in never a day job. It can only be accomplished through the mercies of God. Here I'm today looking at the pictures and reflecting on the journey that brought me to where I'm today. I can only say Glory be to God.
