Skills or talents.

Warm greetings to every member and friend of this amazing community (@steem4nigeria). It is yet another beautiful day with an opportunity to rub minds and also tell you about the blessings of God in my life. As you read through, remain blessed.

Looking at our lives as humans, it is not news that we all have what God has endorsed in us to be able to live happily and also contribute to the environment. Apart from that, we sometimes have a passion for other things, and we take a step toward learning them. This is the reason why we go to school or meet professionals in the fields where we have an interest to acquire their knowledge. With that being said, let's move ahead as I answer the below questions.

In your own words tell us what you think a skill is and what a talent is

Talent: Every human has something that God has endorsed or blessed him or her with. You sometimes find yourself or someone being perfect and amazing in a particular field not because he or she has learned it from anyone. It is just natural and born with. This could be singing, cooking, dancing, etc. It is almost impossible to compete with someone who has talent because it is just in him or her.

skills: these are things we see in others and we develop interest and passion towards learning them. No one is born with a skill, for we all can acquire skills from other people. This is the reason why we pay to learn from someone who already knows. You see people going to learn tailoring, baking, automobile repairs, etc. In most cases, skills are what we learn to be able to put a hot plate on our tables (Food).

In summary, talent is a natural gift that comes from God. While skills are being learned from the environment.

Which of them do you prefer and why

To me, it is a difficult task to choose which is the best between skill and talent. The reason is, they are all vital to our existence. Nevertheless, I go with the skill. It might be surprising to you that I chose skill over talent, but I have my reasons.

I choose skills because if you look at the environment today, you will realize that 70% of people are living based on the skills they acquired. Most of the accountants, doctors, tailors, bakers, etc, are all practicing what they learned here on earth rather than what they were born with. You will believe me that most people don't even know their talent, yet they are living comfortably with their skills. As such, I do prefer skill.

I have both skills and talent. To say the truth, I have a dancing talent. I can dance for Africa. If there is something. That gives me joy and peace, it should be dancing. It takes away my pains and sorrows, and it restores my peace. I bless God for such a talent. Although my talent isn't fetching me money, what could be more important than the happiness I drive from it?

Talking about skills, I'm blessed with 3. To be precise, I have skills in farming, forex trading, and automobile repairs. As for farming, I learned it from my parents, and I learned forex trading from a friend. I also started learning about automobile repairs years ago, and today I have the skill.

Conclusion

Talking about talent and skill, with a loud voice I can tell you that non is less important. They both play a vital role in our life. Trust me, each of them can take us out of shame.
