What do you understand by the word hospitality?

What I understand by the word hospitality is that is the act of warmly welcoming and generously caring for strangers, guests (visitors), or anyone who is in need. Hospitality involves showing kindness, creating a comfortable environment, and showing generosity to others. It is far beyond offering shelter or food to someone, but making people feel happy, valued, respected, and comfortable is what I understand by the word hospitality.

In a world where sometimes the "helper" becomes a "victim," should we still show hospitality? What's your take? Explain.

Yes, we can still show hospitality, but it should be with wisdom. The world in which we are living is full of risk, and many good-hearted people are taken for granted. However, this should not be a reason for someone to stop being kind to people because they are still good people in the world. Instead, when offering hospitality it should be with discernment. The best thing is for us to do background checks l, apply safety measures, and set boundaries that can help us balance generosity with our security. We shouldn't let fear override our kindness completely because of the wrongdoing of others.

Have you ever received unforgettable hospitality from someone? How was it? And why is it unforgettable?

Yes, I have ever received unforgettable hospitality from someone who despite having little, still went on to make me feel at home and happy. My best friend whose name is Mercy was the person who showed me unforgettable hospitality. What made it unforgettable for me wasn't just the material things that she gave to me, but the warmth, sincerity, and effort she put in as she welcomed and hosted me in her house. To me true hospitality is about intention, and not just about resources.

A hospitable person is what I always strived to be and I consider myself a hospitable person. To me, hospitality is not only about welcoming people into a physical space but it is also about being open, kind, and supportive. Whether it is by making someone feel heard in conversation, sharing helpful information, or offering assistance when needed, I am always true to peace and hospitality in various ways of life.

When showing hospitality to people, it should be done as we have shared below.

We should show hospitality with sincerity because is genuine kindness that makes a difference.
See should show hospitality without expecting anything in return. Hospitality shouldn't be transactional.
We should show hospitality by noticing small needs. Small gestures like giving someone water, or listening to someone can go a long way.
We should make people feel comfortable through our words, and actions, or even by creating a welcoming atmosphere.
