My view on the high cost of items in my country

What is the situation in your country currently? Have items in your country increased in price lately?

My country is Nigeria and the situation in Nigeria currently is not funny as there are total hardships everywhere in the country due to the high price of goods and services which is caused by the removal of fuel subsidies. A lot of items have increased in Nigeria by more than 50% which has made the cost of living so difficult in the country.

People are complaining in Nigeria as things are getting worse under this current administration that we are. People are suffering, as the cost of living is now high, traveling is a problem, to buying food and eating is a problem based on the increase in price of items lately.

Mention 5 items in your country that have increased in price. How much was it before and how much does it cost now( it will be nice to also show the price in steem)

In Nigeria almost every item has increased the 5 items that are generally common to us are;

Fuel (petrol)
Beans
Bread
Garri
Rice

Before the increase in the price of these aforementioned items above, a liter of fuel was sold for around ₦700 (2.4Steem), but today the current price of fuel is ₦1200 (4.2 STEEM). Beans as of last month a module was sold around ₦2500 (8.9 STEEM), but its current price is now ₦3000 (10.6 STEEM).

Bread that was sold at ₦1000 (3.5 Steem) as of last month is now ₦1500 (5.3 STEEM). Garri a module is now ₦1200 (4.2 STEEM) as against ₦900 (3.2 STEEM). Rice before was around ₦2500 (8.9 STEEM) but now it is ₦2700 (9.6 STEEM).

How are you coping with the difficulties in your country and what do you think is causing these difficulties?

Well, it has been God all through that has been guiding me. Thank God for my family and friends who have been kind to me. I have been managing myself in this difficult which as a student hasn't been easy. I do manage my resources and money well so as not to go broke, and with the difficulties I have limited myself in doing some things that I find irrelevant.

I think what is causing these difficulties in Nigeria is the removal of fuel subsidies and the high price at which we are buying fuel in Nigeria. The price of fuel is high the exchange rate of the Naira to the dollar is also high and Nigeria's economy is not growing.

If you have an opportunity to leave your country to another country for greener pastures which country would you like to travel to and why?

If I have an opportunity to leave Nigeria for another country for greener pastures it is the United States of America USA i would like to travel to. The reason why I will travel to the USA is that it is the world powerful country and it is the country with the best economy. I naturally like everything about the USA which is the reason why I would like to travel to the USA.
