          INTRODUCTION

Hello friends of steem4Nigeria community, hope we all enjoyed the World's Workers' Day. Sometimes when we seek for pineapples, life gives us lemons.

Going down the memory lane now reminds me of my worst secondary experience which I haven't been able to forget. When in High school, I was quite very young and a little bit short and small. I was a quiet fellow who didn't want to be known by a lot of people.

Being a quiet fellow emanated from the experience I had while in secondary school. I didn't want a lot of people to see my face because I was quite ashame.

Why did I live a life away from the crowd?
What could have happened that made it my worst experience?

Well I know you can't wait to read the next paragraph but have a look at the highschool I went to.

The name of the highschool I went to from 2008 till 2014 is Heritage College, it is a secondary school located in the town of Uyo Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria.
Heritage college which had the slogan 'in pursuit of excellence' was all about excellence, brilliance and respect. The school started sometime back in 2003 and has since produced the best students in the state. The school fees was also affordable but they had the best teachers and principal. A lot of people in my Location wanted to go to the school. This made the school quite popular in its environs

My worst nightmare was when I was sent out of the exams hall because of school fees. I was incapable of paying my school fees most times, I paid late everytime. It is either I pay during examination period or after the current term. My dad and mom couldn't pay the fees most times and that affected me. Well back to my worst nightmare story;

During my my High school final examination (Waec) which is always the examination done for West African countries, I couldn't complete my school fees as at that time. So I was permitted to write the examination by the principal. After writing the first four papers, we were informed that all debtors should try as much to pay their fees. I had told my parents but they didn't still have money to pay. As at the time the school fees was 100,000 naira, so my dad paid 40,000 naira and 60,000 naira was left.

On the last paper of my examination, I wasn't allowed to enter the examination hall. I almost cried when it happened. I got someone's phone to call my dad to come and plead for me and he said he did not have money to come and pay and I should look for a way to write the examination.
I was the only one left outside. I watched as my colleagues were writing the examination and I was left outside. For 1 hour, my dad didn't come. That was my worst experience, I felt sober and frustrated throughout. I also felt ashamed because it felt like I was too poor not to be able to pay my fees.

After some minutes, I saw my dad come into the school compound. I was a little happy but was ashamed and sad. He pleaded with the principal and I was allowed to write the examination late. Though I passed the examination, but I felt ashamed that I didn't pay my fees then. Well I paid after some months and got my results.

We learn everyday in life. Our experiences allows us to see life differently. I learnt that even on the worst situations, I shouldn't lose hope. That even when life tries to bring in sadness, frustration to us, we should always hope for a better future.

I was happy to be taught this in life. Though it made me stay in my shell.

That is my worst Highschool experience.
