Hello friends.. How are you coping today? Am pretty sure that you and your family is doing great. Today, we will be discussing a critical topic titled "Cesarean Section". Read on;

How do you explain CS to a lay man understanding?

In a lay man's understanding, we say that "Cesarean Section" is a way of delivering a baby by surgery which opens up the woman's abdomen and uterus. In other words, it is the surgical way of a woman to deliver a baby through her abdominal walls. C.S as abbreviated is classified into two ways, either elective (planned) or emergency (unplanned). For a baby to be delivered through cesarean section, there must have been a serious problem that occurred, instead of being delivered through normal vaginal birth.

Do you think CS should be a choice /right or as situation demands?

In my understanding I will suggest that CS can be an option in order to save a delivering mother. A woman may not plan to enter into cesarean section, but due to her inability to deliver her baby through the normal process, she will have to undergo CS for her baby to come out. So what am trying to emphasize here is that, in most cases CS tends to be a preferable option in a emergency situation. Some times, some women go for CS for the fear of child birth, some women go for CS because of the fear of child birth, safety of the baby, or when she is unable to perform through vaginal delivery.

Is there any history or stories about the belief of women who gives birth through CS in your country

There are many beliefs in my country about the cesarean section. In Nigeria, it is fated that women who delivers through CS are as a result of some certain complications or hard labour. Meanwhile, some also believe that is not right for a woman to go through CS, because it sometimes leads to death. It only takes God and a strong surviving woman to perform CS and comes out successfully with the baby alive too.

Also, history has it that CS deals with risk which is true. Is either the person comes out dead or alive. Another point here is that CS is sometimes believed as a life saver for those people who pass through complications during child birth. Its a second option for women who are in emergency situations.

What is your advice to that person who is refusing this process because of what people will say?

To anyone who has refused to go through CS because of what people have said, my advice for you is that you should decline cesarean birth. Its our right and decision to choose. But on the other hand, sometimes, we don't have the right to decide whether CS or vaginal birth. This is because God is the overall seer. He sees what happens in the future. So in most cases, its not our decision, but we have the right.

Will you support your sister,wife to Choose CS in case of any emergency during childbirth?

Yeah, I will. This is a matter of life and death. So, I will advise her to go through CS because this is an emergency situation which needs to be attended to. But in all, I will ask the lord Almighty to take over for a successful delivery, because God is the greatest physician.
