What do you think the word trust means?

Trust means believing and relying on someone or something. When you trust someone, you feel confident that they will do what they say and that they won't let you down. It's like having faith in them and feeling safe with them. Trust is built over time through honesty, reliability, and consistency. It's important in relationships and friendships because it helps people feel secure and comfortable with each other. When there is trust, people can share their thoughts, feelings, and secrets without worrying about being betrayed or hurt.

Presently in your country, do the citizens feel safe to trust one another? If not why? And if yes why?

In my country, citizens currently don't feel safe trusting one another. People from various backgrounds and different countries have migrated here, creating a situation where trust is scarce. Even among relatives, trust is lacking, especially in business, freelancing, and online work. There is a prevalent sense of insecurity due to rampant scamming.

Many individuals have deceived me, running away with my money and breaking my trust repeatedly. Moreover, scams have become commonplace in relationships, leading to broken trust between partners. Scamming has unfortunately become a widespread issue in my country nowadays.

Have you had any experience where your trust in someone was broken? Or such a scenario from a Friend?

Yes, my father was a very wealthy person and he had his own business involving various things, but the most popular were cement, clothes, and domestic animals. My father himself was very honest and trustworthy.

Later, he ventured into the property business and felt the need for a partner. He convinced his friend to join him, and they started the business together. The business flourished, and my father had immense trust in his friend. However, his friend took advantage of my father's trust. In the end, the friend bought most of the properties and fled with the money abroad, deeply betraying my father's trust. This betrayal tormented my father immensely.

Can you suggest ways to mend broken trust?

Yes, I suggest five points to mend broken trust:

1. Talk openly:
Take time to have honest conversations about what happened and how it affected each other.

2. Say sorry:
Offer a genuine apology to acknowledge the pain and show your commitment to making things right.

3. Be consistent:
Demonstrate through your actions that you're trustworthy by keeping promises and being reliable.

4. Give it time:
Understand that rebuilding trust takes time and patience, so be patient and allow the healing process to unfold naturally.

5. Seek help if needed:
Don't hesitate to seek guidance from a therapist, counselor, or trusted advisor if you're struggling to mend the broken trust on your own.
