It's an opportunity to honor this important contest organized by @steem4nigeria community titled,"Growing up in urban or rural area"in Steemit Engagement challenge 3rd week.
Before,we go further we should be able to know the meaning of Urban and Rural Area.
Urban areas can be describe as a particular place, that has what it takes to make life comfortable due to the basic social amenities such as good water supply, electrical light and good transportation network.
Features of Urban Areas:
- There's high rate of job opportunities.
- Socialization:You will get in contact with People from different cultures and tradition from different parts of the world.
- Quality Education: There is every possibility that education at the urban area is more standardized and effective.
Meanwhile, rural area in the other hand is a natural environment where activities are done locally. Rural areas is also known as remote areas where basic social amenities is not in full display.
Therefore,a rural area lacks the ingredients to make life conducive.

Features of Rural Areas:
- Absence or Poor infrastructure.
- Poor transportation network.
- Lack of socialization.
I grew up in a semi-urban area, where life is a little convenient and the environment is friendly, the only challenge we are facing is poor water supply and unstable electrical light, the light in my area is rationed. I am born and bred in Nasarawa State in Akun development Area,Ola to be precise.
My locality-snap using infinix Hot-8
I have been to so many areas, where I didn't grew up in order to have experience about other people culture and tradition. Definitely,it will be an opportunity to go to an unknown area, for field trip.
Now, I have to compare and contrast between Ola(in Nasarawa state) and Wuse 2 (in Abuja FCT)
- I easily make friends in my area while it is difficult to make friendship in Abuja because it seems to me, that people mind their business.
- There's good transportation network in Abuja while we don't have good road in Ola my hometown.
- There's a lot of skyscrappers and tall buildings in Abuja while in my hometown, you hardly find one.
- You don't see bush and forest in Abuja, while in my hometown we are close to the wild.
- There's stable light in (Wuse 2) Abuja. While in my hometown, electricity light is been rationed.
It doesn't really matter where you grew up, but it does matter, how you were raised properly in order to fit positively in the society.
Thank you all.
