I was privileged to be hired by Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health as a photographer to cover their school children immunization exercise that took place on the 24th day of October, 2024 at Miracle Academy and other schools in the state.

Immunization is a crucial step in protecting children from vaccine-preventable diseases. Recently, a school immunization event was organized in our state to vaccinate school-going children. This report highlights the key aspects of the event.

Event Details

Date: 24/10/2024
Location: Uyo
Target Group: School children (ages 5-18)

The event was successful and the Commissioner of the ministry was overwhelmed by the achievements recorded in the report he got from the medical team.

Key Achievements

  1. High Turnout: Over 90% of eligible children participated in the immunization drive.

  2. Successful Vaccination: A total of 3,200 children received the recommended vaccines on that day.

  3. Community Engagement: Parents, teachers, and healthcare workers collaborated to ensure the event's SUccess.

From my observation, I noticed some challenges faced by the medical team and the school children during before and during the immunization process.

Challenges Faced

  1. Logistical Issues: Minor delays in vaccine supply and equipment setup.

  2. Parental Concerns: Addressing misconceptions and fears about vaccine safety.

In Conclusion, The school children immunization event was a resounding success, demonstrating the community's commitment to protecting its children from vaccine-preventable diseases. We appreciate the efforts of healthcare workers, educators, and parents in making this initiative possible.

Few days ago, precisely 31st October, 2024 was another memorable day as we laid to rest, the remains of my good neighbour.

Guide to join

First event : seems like all the children were not afraid of being shots with the vaccine, that's really cool. Tell me the truth... Did you really not find any funny reaction while the event happening 🫣 because i have seen many funny moments when children were exposed to this kinda events.

My own experience in the past also quite funny🤣🤣 since nobody wanted to go first to get shots, I was voluntarily being the first, but right after the injection completed, i fainted 😂

Second event:
I can say that, we gave the same tradition here in the other side of the world. I live in Indonesia by the way. When there is someone passed away, all the closest in the neighborhood will take care of the process of funeral before the relatives (if they have any) coming to take over. But, after the funeral, the deceased family would have to arranging the praying events, usually at night. It depends on their willingness and financial situation, sometimes it was just for the first night, but many times it was continuing until the seventh nights.

Thanks for sharing this with steemit, have a blessed day 🌞
