I hope you'll take a moment to read, enjoy, and perhaps find it meaningful enough to share your thoughts and upvote.
Sunday, 2nd February, 2025 was a fulfilling day, filled with a mix
of routine tasks and quality time with my
family. It began with a special outing
with my son - a trip to the barber shop for
a nice haircut. I, and my son were excited to get a fresh new look, and I was happy to see
him looking sharp and confident.
The barber was skilled and friendly, putting my
son at ease as he worked his magic.
After the haircut, we headed back home,
where I tackled the never-ending pile of
laundry. It's not the most glamorous task,
but it's a necessary one, and I find it
somewhat therapeutic.
The sound of the washing machine and the smell of fresh
detergent was oddly soothing. As I folded
and hung up the clothes, I felt a sense of
satisfaction at getting the chore done.
The highlight of my day, however, was my wife
cooking a delicious pot of afang soup for
lunch. Afang soup is a traditional Nigerian
dish made with leafy greens, meat or fish,
and a variety of spices. It's a favourite in
our household, and my wife love experimenting
with different ingredients and flavours.
Sunday's version turned out particularly
well, with the tender leaves and rich broth
combining perfectly. My wife, son and I enjoyed
a satisfying lunch together, savoring the
flavours and textures of the soup.
After eating our lunch, we took a nap before my son woke me to a demand that he wanted to drink "Hollandia Yoghurt energy drink." I didn't hesitate to take him out to the nearby shop and bought for him.
All in all, it was a lovely day filled with
everyday tasks and special moments with
my family. As I reflect on the day's activities,
I'm grateful for the simple pleasures in life
and the joy that comes from sharing them
with my steemian colleagues.
