In your own words what do you understand by the word security?

Security : This word has a comforting reality for me. We find security and warmth in the place we love which is the place designated for us like work. If you can't find hope in your workplace near your colleagues or friends then this is not your place.

Security is feeling reassured that everything will be okay despite the nastiness. Because you sit with people who you feel safe with, if you don't feel safe, warm and reassured with the people who are your friends then they are not your friends.

The safest thing is that we have a shelter, we have a house, we have a family, even if it lacks members, but there is someone who loves me, I have a house, I have an embrace warmth of a caring mother, and moments There is nothing happier than her and quarrels with brothers and there is a father to chat with who makes you feel safe after a violent quarrel that ends without anyone being convinced of the other, but it's security for the family.

It's security. It is the feeling that is difficult for me to explain how sweet it is , even if there is bitterness in the days, the feeling of security. And the heat makes him pass peacefully.

In your country, in what ways has the government been able to keep the citizens safe?

It is one of the duties of the state to work to establish security and ensure the safety and security of its citizens and those present on its lands and facilities. For this, my country Tunisia allocates large sums of money to achieve and maintain the objective of security for their lands and their population, by promulgating laws and creating competent authorities that work to establish security and provide a safe environment.

This is done by providing them with quality, modern training and keeping pace with developments in all security sciences. Indeed, there are security colleges and academies which take responsibility for training men and providing them with the latest security science and technology so that they can be the safety valve. Tunisia is also striving to modernize its structure in the field of supplying modern devices used to detect crime.

Personally, what do you do for yourself or your family to be safe in your town or country?

I think my city is safe everywhere. The neighborhood where I live is mostly populated by the middle class, but also with working class people and financially well-off, even very rich people.

There is no, or very little, gentrification in this city, unlike other cities and countries where I have lived. My neighborhood is mainly made up of recently built buildings.

With my wife and children, whatever the time of day or night, we have never had a derogatory, racial or sexist remark from strangers in the street.

People in general seem serene and happy. Most of our neighbors are in their thirties and have young children. But there are also quite a few younger people and older people. Everyone seems to live together in harmony.

Have you experienced or heard of any case of insecurity (robbery or kidnap)? What happened?

Once, in 2020. I remember reading, before that, an article on the subject in a magazine which talked about rape felt during a domestic burglary.

Well, I felt exactly that. The fact that someone enters your home without your knowledge to rob you is recognized mentally as rape. “They searched my home, my privacy”…

The burglary was almost comical. While I was at work, they "visited" my apartment. Some designer clothes were stolen from me, but the thief(s) must have been surprised or frightened and left too quickly because in my closet and slipped between my jeans, part of my salary in banknotes (around 900 dinars) was forgotten or not seen… How lucky! Apparently, I lost my Lacoste and my Timberland sweatshirts there and that's it. Neither neighbor saw or heard anything.

What do you think is the best way to keep a home secure?

The most effective way to secure the house remains the installation of an alarm. You can supplement your simple alarm with a surveillance camera system. The alarm center connected to motion and burglary detectors will trigger your alarm at the slightest burglary attempt through the front door. You can also opt for remote monitoring. At the slightest intrusion, a powerful siren will sound and a remote surveillance agent will be able to notify the police for emergency intervention and communicate with the burglar via the central unit.
