How well do you know steemit blockchain?

I have some basic knowledge when it comes to the Steemit blockchain. My months and periods on the platform has made me to know a little about the platform.

One of the things I know about the Steem blockchain is that it house the Steemit platform which is a decentralised application that runs on the Steem blockchain. The Steemit platform is a Dapp where the native token of the blockchain is mainly used.

Steemit as a platform is the first decentralised social media that pays its user for performing activities on the platform such writing making videos and many other things.

So when you write on the Steemit platform, you will earn money in the form of Steem and SBD which is a trade able token that can be traded on any exchange platform such as Binance, Bybit etc.

How can you explain steemit to a stranger?

To a stranger, I will explain Steemit in the most simplest term just like the way I was told about the platform. So the paragraph below is how I will explain Steemit to any stranger that I met.

Steemit is a social media platform where people write and earn money in form of a Steem. So Steem is the native token of the Steemit platform and can be exchange into our native currency at any point and time.

A platform where you write and then get paid for writing is what we called Steemit. So everyone who wants to earn money via writing can join the Steemit platform.

What is the meaning of this acronym CSI on steemit. How can a user know his /her voting CSI.

Community support index is what the acronym CSI stands for. It is a tool that is used to check or know how far a user on the Steemit platform support another. So every Steemian has a CSI which can be seen in the steemworld.org platform.

To know your voting CSI, all you need to do is to go to the web page I have shared above and the input your username on the title bar and then go to the stats column and see you voting CSI as in the screenshot above.

What is the work of curators on steemit?

A curator on the Steemit platform is one who performs activities like voting and commenting on different articles on the platform. This curators votes according to the quality of the post.

So a Steemit curator is one who votes on different post on the Steemit platform. So when you vote and comment on other people post then you are also a curator.

So everyone who votes with big or small account, is a curator. There are few curators selected by Steemit who uses the Steemcurators account and they are also called minor curators because the account use doesn't have big power.

What is SP? How long does it take to return to Steem if a power down is being initiated.

SP is a reward that is given to user when their post pays out. This means that when a user post is about to payout, he or she gets a reward in the form of SP and this SP is the token that gives users influence on the platform.

Every activity on the platform requires SP as it serves as the major means or gas to perform activities such as voting, posting and commenting. So with the SP you can't perform this activities.

Also, it is important to note that Steem can be converted to SP through a process called power up. This SP too can be converted to Steem through a process called power down though this takes some time for the Steem to drop.

If a user powers down, he or she needs atleast one month before he or she can return to the platform and start writing again. Alternatively he or she can power up more Steem than the one he withdraw to continue writing immediately.
