Hello good day to you fellow steemian and the organiser of this wonderful contest, it interest me alot reason why i participated, thanks to you @josepha.
Before i start, i want to talk about the word look and Deceptive to get a clear view of the contest title.
what does the word look mean
Look In the context of human appearance is typically referred to the physical appearance or outward appearance of a person, including their facial features, body shape, clothing, grooming, and other visible attributes. It encompasses how a person presents themselves visually to others, including their style, manners, and overall aesthetic.
We know that look is often used as a means of communication, self expression, and social interaction. It convey information about a person's identity, personality, social status, cultural background, and even mood or emotions. Looks can also play a role in forming first impressions and influencing how others perceive and interpret an individual.
In the society today, looks are often given significant importance, and this can be a focus on external appearances, particularly in context of fashion, beauty, entertainment, and media. Standards of beauty and attractiveness can vary across different cultures, time periods, and social groups, and can sometimes lead to societal pressure and unrealistic expectations related to looks.
Always remember this, everyone is unique and person's worth and value should not be based on their looks. True understanding and meaningful connections with others go beyond looks and require empathy, compassion, and the ability to see beyond external appearances to truly appreciate the complexity and depth of person.
Look can be deceptive, that's absolutely true meaning that appearances can be misleading or not accurately reflecting the true nature of a person or thing. Sometimes Something may seems one way on the surface, but the reality or truth may be different. A person may appear confident and happy on the outside, but are struggling with inner challenges or insecurities. Similarly, a situation or object may seem harmless or gentle, but have hidden dangers or risks.
Actually, looks can be deceptive in various aspects of life, including in relationships, business, and everyday interactions. It's important to remember that relying solely on appearances can lead to misjudgments or misunderstandings. It's crucial to think deeper, gather more information, and consider multiple perspectives to gain a more accurate understanding of people, situations, or things.
In our world where external appearances are often given significant importance, it's essential to cultivate critical thinking, discernment, and the ability to look beyond the surface to uncover the truth. It is important to be open minded, curious, and willing to dig deeper can help us avoid being deceived by looks and gain a more comprehensive understanding of reality.
Let's now talk an about the word Deceptive
Deceptive refers to something that misleads or deceives, often by presenting a false impression or causing someone to believe something that is not true. It can involve intentionally or unintentionally creating a misleading perception, hiding or distorting information, or manipulating facts or appearances to mislead others.
Deception also occur in various forms like communication, behavior, appearance, or presentation. It happens in interpersonal relationships, business transactions, advertising, politics, and many other areas of life.
Deception is very harmful as it can lead to misunderstandings, misinterpretations, and misguided decisions to human. This can erode trust, damage relationships, and even has negative consequences on individuals, organizations, or society as a whole. It's important to always be vigilant to avoid falling victim to deception.
A common example of deceptive appearances is when people or things are not what they initially seems to be. Now lets take for instance, a person who appears friendly and trustworthy on the surface which turns out to have a very bad motives or hidden agenda's. Similarly, it applies to a product that appears to be of high quality based on its packaging or branding may not live up to its promises upon closer inspection.
Deception can also happen in the digital world, where appearances can be easily manipulated or fabricated. For instance, edited photos or videos can create misleading impressions, and online personas or identities may not accurately represent the true identity or intentions of an individual.
It's essential to cultivate critical thinking skills, question assumptions, and seek reliable information to avoid being deceived. Being cautious, verifying information from multiple sources, and looking beyond surface appearances can help in identifying potential deception and making more informed decisions.
Question 1
Tell us about the time you judged by looks and ended up being wrong.
To tell about when i jugde and it turns out to be wrong, sometimes in a scenario where i meets a new colleague or course mate at work or school who appears to be shy, withdrawn, and unapproachable based on their appearance and initial interactions. I jugde this person's or colleague is not friendly, uninterested, or unfriendly based solely on their looks and appearances.
However, as time goes on, i realizes that my initial judgment was incorrect. I now come to learn that my colleague is actually an introvert who takes time to warm up to new people, and they have valuable insights and ideas to share when given the opportunity. Which turns out that my colleagues are actually quite knowledgeable, skilled, and supportive once they open up, and realizes that my initial judgment based on looks was unfair and inaccurate.
I regret my actions for having made assumptions based solely on appearances and recognizes that i was wrong to judge my colleague based on looks alone.
Question 2
Tell us about the time you also judged by looks but ended up being right.
On this aspect of me being right when i jugded, to some people that might say i was lucky. Well, i won't say that it is lie because that's their own point of view or option.
So this is how it happens, one day i was walking alone in a dark alley at night and i had an encounter with some guys who appears to be behaving aggressively, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, and an exhibiting threatening body (i mean muscline). Based on their looks and behavior, i quickly make a judgment that this individual's poses a potential threat to my safety.
As the situation unfolds in the dark lonely alley, they begin to approach the me in a menacing manner, confirming my initial judgment. I was able to take precautionary measures to protect myself, such as calling for help running to leave the area, and avoid a potentially dangerous situation.
In this hypothetical incident, my initial judgment based on looks turned out to be accurate, and my quick assessment of the situation helped me took an appropriate action to ensure my safety.
Question 3
Have you ever been judged wrongly or know someone who has been judged wrongly?
Many individuals today have experienced being judged wrongly based on superficial factors such as their appearance, background, or other external characteristics. For example, i have few of my friends that has faced discrimination or bias in hiring processes due to preconceived notions held by the employee.
Moreover, this mistaken judgments or assumptions was based on looks or other external factors, like he is not looking fresh and not putting on a mice cloth which lead to misunderstandings, misinterpretations, and that made him missed the opportunities of that job he look out for, but he is good at his work the employee would have enjoyed his services, him judging the guy's look made him missed his professional service and special skills. In this life, it is essential to recognize that everyone is unique and multifaceted, and making judgments based solely on superficial factors can be misleading and unfair.
The same thing happened to me, few months back in the month of January precisely. There is the female friend of mine i want to help pay her fees on the school portal because she don't know how to do that herself, so i called her to ask for her details this was after she ask me to help out fill the form, when i logged in succefully i told to fund my account to pay the fees for but she was like "you mean i should send the money to your account" i said yes. Then she said no i should'nt worry that she will go to a nearest computing service center, i was'nt angry but i knew she judged me wrongly due to my look
It's crucial to recognize that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their looks or any other external factor.
Question 4
What lesson did both experiences teach you?
I learned an important lesson about the deceptive nature of looks and the need to look beyond the surface to truly understand others.
Both experiences highlight the importance of not making hasty judgments based on just looks or other external factors. Looks can be deceptive, and forming quick judgments without considering additional information or context can result in unfair and inaccurate assessments.
Also learn the need to recognize and challenge our own biases and assumptions. It's important to be aware of the tendency to judge others based on looks or other superficial factors and strive to see beyond appearances to gain a more accurate understanding of others.
I also learn to taking my time to understand others, their perspectives, and their unique experiences which can help build meaningful connections and foster inclusivity and mutual respect.
Everyone is unique and has their own story, and it's important to recognize that looks or external characteristics do not define the entirety of a person.
And i finally learn that everyone deserves to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect regardless of our looks or any other external factor. It's important to approach each other with an open and non judgmental mindset, and to treat them with the same respect and consideration that we would like to receive too.
So here come the end of my entry, thank you for reading my contest article hope you like it, please do well to tell me in the comment section below.
You are becoming more aware of the importance of looking beyond superficial factors when interacting with others. Taking the time to understand someone's perspective and unique experiences can go a long way in building meaningful connections and promoting inclusivity and mutual respect.keep up the good work.
Thanks 🙏

We are all guilty of being judged wrongly or judging others wrongly.

Hmm the girl refused to fund your account with the money because she thinks you will scam her. Here in Nigeria we don't know who is who, the bad ones has influenced everybody and nobody including you and I will want to trust the good ones with 100% not even 50%.
I wonder how you look that you feel she's judging you by your look. Do you really think you look bad dear?
Lastly, your entry is long, you saying much about the meaning of look and deceptive isn't that necessary, what I meant by not necessary is that your writing on the meaning of look and deceptive is long, at least two paragraphs are ok.
Am not trying to judge you dear, but am expressing how I feel about your post. Have a nice day and I will love you to read my entry on this contest and make a comment.

Smiles.
Yes, you are right it is very hard to trust people this days because one bad person affects the world which we are all suffering from today.
And for how i look, i don't what to say about that, for if you a person is good he is not to say but people around will to prove he/she really do. For instance, a girl would not say i'm beautify i tell, people wil say to her you are beautiful then she truly know she's beautiful.
Hahaha, you are funny bro i'm tell for saying this
