Hello steemians...

How are you all doing today? It's your girl @mar-tha, I'm so delighted to participate on this amazing contest organised by @steem4nigeria, feels good to be part of this great community.

✅How do you explain fundamental human rights?

Well, fundamental human rights are certain rights and privileges that all citizens of a given state are allowed to enjoy, the right is applicable to everyone in the society irrespective of the socio-economic or geographical background.

The Universal Declaration of Human rights, was adopted in 1948 by the United nations, has stated all this right for every citizen to enjoy. These rights include; Right to life, rights to education, right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion etc.

✅Do you think all the citizens have these rights, or is it only made for the rich? (You can give examples if any).

Hmmm well, if I said all citizens enjoy this right at the current state of my Country Nigeria today well,,, I lied, the rights are clearly stated or written in the 1999 Nigeria constitution as amended but not all citizens are enjoying these certain privileges today.

Let's take for instance right to education: Education today has become a hot cake, son to a common man in Nigeria society cannot afford to sponsor his children to school or better schools in the nation, the cost is too high, so where are the rights and privileges?, like me in particular I have to step down for my younger brother to be enrolled into the university.

Another point of view is right to Health care services: In some countries most of the poor people don't have access to hospital treatment, as per they cannot afford to pay the expensive medical bills, leaving pitiful and end up dying because they don't have what it takes receive attention and treatment in those hospitals, only the rich can afford that. That shows is not for all in this our contemporary society, So what I'm saying in essence is that fundamental human rights is only on paper but on a real norms the poor and others vulnerable individuals are excluded to some extent.

✅Have you been deprived of expressing your human rights before? What action did you take?

I think the deprivation of human rights that I've faced is my parents inability to send me and my brother to school at the same time to acquire education so I had to step down for him, that's the only aspect my rights was deprived.

What I did was, I opted for skill acquisition, so I went I learned salon, I must say I made the right choices, now I'm earning well and I'm doing very very well, so I thank God for everything.

According to 1999 Federal Republic of Nigeria constitution as amended outline about 18 fundamental human rights for the common good of all her citizens these includes:

  • Right to life

  • Right to Education

  • Right to personal liberty

  • Right to fair hearing

  • Right to health care

  • Right to Equality before the law

  • Right to private and family Life.

  • Right to life: This implies every has the right to be alive, and such right is protected by the federal republic of Nigeria.

  • Right to personal liberty: This implies every citizen is allowed to live his/her own life and freedom from every unlawful detention

  • Right to private and family life: Every citizen has the right to private and family life, it's a personal matters that the state has given to its citizens to enjoyed based on the 1999 constitution as amended in chapter 4 of the constitution.

✅Which of the fundamental human rights should be removed from the law. (Give your reasons).

Rights to personal liberty: This right has made some persons In this planet to behave in a manner which I categorised as unlawful.

This right has given individuals to live their own life anyhow they choose to live, I think the right is to much, there should be a limit to that, else this generation is turning to something else, I believe you all know all this transgender stuffs, to me is not lawful, our children should be well oriented, and not to choose genders for themselves, it should be banned anyone found trying to assign sex for himself should be sentence to life imprisonment with hard labour, yes me, the judge has said it... That right makes some people to change from their initials sex, If I were a president for one day I will remove it, in other to shape humans behaviour in my state.

In conclusion, I will like to thank the organisers of this great contest, blessed you all, and thank you all my steemians friends for reading through my blog, I'm grateful 🙏....

Thank you @steem4nigeria for reviewing my post and for your kind remarks....

Wow, I love the way you have expressed yourself on this. It's quite unfortunate that do many children especially in the rural area do not have the right to Education and this is also affecting our country.

You are right ma'am, thank you so much for your valuable comments, I appreciate a lot...

Well-done dear, I like it when you said you step down for your brother to continue, you were so considerate instead of the both of you to lose it.

Yes dear, I was left with no options, than to let my younger brother acquire the education,
Thank you for your valuable comments ma'am 🙏...

Totally impressed with your ability in granting justice to this topic. However, don't you thing that the right to personal liberty has its own part to play despites the numerous abnormalities it carries?

You might be right Sir,. Coz what I later discovered, anything that has advantages has disadvantages,.
All the right are good except otherwise,
Thank you so much for your kind words,
