What do you envision if you assign a project to the unsuitable individual? Management errors, a careless mentality, a rude person, a casual attitude, and many more. The truth is that every nation has its own issues and difficulties, but we never give up on a brighter future.
A good and thoughtful leader is what determines a country's success, but given the state of my country and what I have witnessed over the years of my existence, we have been ruled by leaders that only care about themselves and want to be granted their desires rather than the citizens'.
By the time they reach that position, they no longer give a damn.
Their sugar-coated words have drawn us in and led us to trust their lies, which have led to our perception. As they reach the authority position, they have a sense of empowerment since no one can tell them what to do; they can only do what they want to do.
"We are going to change and improve things", this statement has been their motto whenever they're campaigning for the position. And when they eventually get there, they turn back on us. However, we continue to hold out hope and confidence that things will improve in Nigeria, from which I am not exempt. I really believe that we have a bright future ahead of us, but we just do not know when or how it will occur. Let's simply keep on believing.
Here in Nigeria we have been dealing with a number of issues, one of which is Inflation, which has affected numerous sectors, including the food and agricultural sector, which is so crucial to us? The government don't care as much about the underprivileged people who can't afford to buy food, now that the price has even doubled, but the thing is do we even have a choice? One reason people turn to stealing, killing, kidnapping, and other forms of survival is because of this. Do we place the responsibility on them or the way the system has developed?
We will never stop encouraging people to acquire skills and to never rely on the government, but what happens once we do so? Will learning those skills prevent the cost of goods from decreasing? As a result of being unable to maintain spending less than their income, many people have even quit patronizing one another and instead sort of work on their own. The economy is improving, yet salaries remain unchanged.
Should we also discuss Nigerian education? Just that one has evolved into something different.
When my friend and I were talking about the strike yesterday, which has been going on for about six months, we heard that it was only a warning strike because the actual one hand had only recently started. They have fooled around with the students' education and lives and are continuing doing so.
My neighbor was crying as she kept complaining about how their "children" were studying overseas because if they weren't, the strike would have been called off and students would have had to return to class. Our nation is a complete wreck.
All of these issue, as well as many others, are happening in this country as a result of the government's failure to control the systems and make competent plans. As long as they are doing well, they are not concerned about the lives of others. It is ludicrous.
The older generation is not allowing the younger generation to reign. They were unwilling to leave the area and even made an effort to observe whether or not things would go smoothly for the children. They should be retired and enjoying their time at home, but instead they only want to handle it themselves.
CAN WE EXPECT A BETTER COUNTRY?
One statement made by some people that still baffles me is that our votes won't count, since the country has been known for rigging elections and manipulating results. Why? When the topic of our country comes up in conversation with someone in my neighborhood, I always say, "This is why we need to acquire our Voter's Card and vote for the correct person," to which they always respond, "On that day, I will not leave my home."
So, how can you say that you desire change if you are refusing to exercise your right to vote and insisting that your ballot won't be counted? We must at least start by trying. God won't leave His seat to lend a hand. He won't help until we put in our best effort and take action.
So, How Do We Go About Doing That?
We don't seem to love ourselves because hatred has been ingrained in us for a very long time, and it's so challenging to come together. If only everyone would cooperate and be in unity.
How many people would be left in Nigeria when everyone wants to flee to another country merely because ours has been screwed up?
Coming election let go out and perform our civil duties, make a prayer to God, and vote for the appropriate party. This will help God modify a man's heart to meet His purposes, which will benefit our nation. I think things will improve, but in the meantime, let's vote for the best candidate, do our part with love, and hope for a better future for the nation.
Nigeria will be great, I strongly believe.
