Before participating in this contest I want to say a big congratulations to the winners of last week drawing contest hosted by @benton3. This week drawing contest is quite amazing and engaging as we will be drawing a crocodile 🐊 as assigned. However, let's get one thing straight, am not a crocodile lover, and just merely picturing a crocodile in my mind scares the living light out of me, talk-less to even see one. No doubt, those reptiles are scary, but they actually have some appreciative qualities and attitude, worthy to be admired. Crocodiles are among the largest, if not the largest reptiles in the world, weighing 23 feet (7 m) and weights of 2,205 pounds (1,000 kg) i.e if it's an adult male. As for the female it's weigh about 10 feet (3 m) long and weighing 330 pounds (150 kg). Crocodiles are courageous hunters able to attack it's prey skillfully and tactfully, they are also good and fast swimmers. By definition and description, crocodiles are semiaquatic reptiles who live in the tropics. River, lakes, and salt water swamps to be precise. Research shows they occupy most tropical areas of the following regions: Africa, Americas, Asia, and Australia etc. Moreover, without further beating around the bush, below are my drawing presentations.
Below are the tools I used in drawing the crocodile:
- Plain sheet paper
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Cutter knife
Now let's talk about the various steps or stages I took in drawing a Crocodile 🐊.
I began by drawing the crocodile's eyes 👀. Others might begin elsewhere, but like I always say and emphasize, beginning from the facial features of an animal or a person when drawing it, is a good starting point, good enough to easily achieve the drawing of other areas like it's neck and abdominal region.
At this stage, I have drawn the crocodile's eyes and it's upper mouth were it's nose is positioned, together with the teeth's on the upper mouth. The crocodile's eyes are waterproof which explains why it can see and hunt it's prey effortlessly even underwater.
At this stage I have finish drawing the crocodile's entire head. The crocodile's head constitute strong and agile muscle and bones, allowing it to catch and devour it's prey (food) with just a single struggle. The crocodile's skull are useful artifacts.
As seen in the picture, I am done drawing the crocodile's head and arm. The crocodile's arm fingers are five in number, designed in such a way that the can swim and walk on land. The crocodile's arm contains strong muscles allowing it to easily grab and roll it's prey (food).
I moved on to draw the crocodile's abdominal region, with it legs. Crocodile's are known for also having big belly (guts). Underneath the crocodiles belly are rough muscle-like glands allowing it to crawl on land without injuring it self.
At this stage I've drawn the crocodile's tails. The crocodile's tails is designed in a way that allows it to swim in water as the crocodiles gain momentum by sweeping water left and right with it's hands and legs. Now going to design it's body scales.
At this stage, I have finished drawing the Crocodile 🐊. Jesus Christ! 🤯 That's one large crocodile. God help me I don't see a crocodile in my life, if i do, let it be from a far and in a place well guarded like in a zoo.
WHAT MAKES THE CROCODILE SPECIAL. |

As already emphasize in the introductory part of this post, I am not a crocodile lover because of how aggressive and rigid-looking the crocodile is. However there are some noteworthy and significant features which the crocodile 🐊 possess, let's talk about some of them.
Semi-Aquatic Lifestyle: one of the Major feature of a crocodile is that it has the ability to adapt both in land and on water can also they possess the capability of Swift movement in both environments.
Top Predators: in the ecosystem crocodiles are apex predators which plays a very crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and balance.
Parental Care: one of the things that is noteworthy about the female crocodile is that there are so much dedicated as mothers, dear God their nest and also assist their hashlings to water and to land.
Survival Instincts: the crocodile positively possess exceptional survival instincts which obviously constitutes active senses including acute sight and hearing enabling them to hunt effectively both in the night and in the day.
Thermoregulation: for survival an adult crocodile is able to regulate its body temperature by basking in the sun, and therefore cooling off in water.
Physical Adaptations: the crocodile have good and positive physical adaptation features, deposits powerful tales and formidable Jaws filled with sharp teeth which allows them for propulsion, and also to be able to capture prey probably with just one move or strike.
Cultural Significance: in many regions as well as societies and communities in the world, the crocodile holds a very remarkable and significant cultural appreciation because it's often symbolizes strength power and resilience.
I'll love to invite my friends @bossj23, @alli001, and @jeph001 to come participate in this wonderful contest.
