My Neighborhood Watch #73 - Reporting Events Around us

The vehicle that knocked down the keke

Hello my fellow steemians, I hope you are all doing well. I want to participate in this particular ular contest about my neighborhood watch. It is an interesting contest which I will be sharing with you and accident event which took place in my environment. In the accident my friend was fully involved.

it was an unforgettable event that early Thursday morning that my phone rang and I checked it was a strange number which I picked, the voice behind that call was my friend and I heard her saying ufan (which means my friend in ibibio language) please can you come to ibiakwu u-turn I had an accident, and I was like where did you go to under this heavy rain but since it was an accident I had to go and meet her without checking how I was dressing.

I immediately took my phone with me then I went under the rain without an umbrella. Getting there she was just setting at a particular spot and I ask her how it happened, then I realized that she could not explain because she was still unstable. so I turned I saw the Keke she entered and the vehicle that hit them. Then they were trying to work on the Keke which was badly damaged then I ask about the guy that hit them and he was no were to be found, but fortunately I saw some group of boys standing close the the vehicle that got the accident so I ask them if the guy that knocked down my friend and they said that the guy was no way to be found not knowing that they are together.

So what I did was that I told them that my friend has to be rushed to the hospital and the rubbish that came out from one of their mouth was that I should be thanking God that no life was lost and I should take her home that she will be fine and that she doesn't have any scars. There I was so angry, then I ask them if they have not heard of internal bleeding before, that outside look might seems okay but what about the inside that we don't just know what happens and we can't see. So I picked up my phone dial a police to come and when they saw that I have call a police that was when one of them volunteered to help that the nearby pharmacy is his own that I should bring her over for injection.

By the time we went to the hospital, I was asked to give her food so that they can inject her , after giving her food, she was called to the injection room, and I heard my friend telling the man that she wants to sleep and I noticed that fear got into the man and the next thing he told me that he won't be able to give her the injection again and that he will only give her some tablets to take and she will be fine.

At this point I was very angry, I was like kind of teaching them their work, so I ask the pharmacy guy that how can he give an accident victim injection without checking her blood pressure to know the stage she is and he heard that my friend wants to sleep that he should know that is not normal at that point. Then augment set in. At the process one of them accepted that he was the one that hit her that I should wait for him to sort out money so that my friend can be taken to the hospital.

So I followed him to his house then I took my friend to the hospital and she was admitted, her blood pressure was very high but I thank God she was fine, the guy later sent in some money to the hospital for her treatment. But the issue right now is that she is complaining to one side of her breast is paining her so I believe it is as the result of the hits.

This particular event is one which I will not forget in a hurry. I just thank God that she is alive.
