Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 35: Dealing with Emotions

"It's so sweet, I love it" There's one kind feeling I normally have anytime I got in contact with zobo. I personally doesn't like zobo from childhood with no reason, I find it disgusting to me. what I am saying this? because I have certain emotions when it come to do with zobo.

But before we begin I will like to send my humble greetings you, you and you who is reading and most importantly @steem4nigeria for this amazing contest.

Today's contest is going to be interesting because it's something we experienced in our daily life. As we already know, our title is "Dealing with Emotions". We'll learn about what emotions is, I will share with you guys the emotions I had, ways of dealing with emotions and why I think emotion cannot hinder someone from achieving their dream. Let's begin then.

WHAT IS YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF EMOTIONS

My own understanding right? I will give it to you. I don't want to go into long talk about emotions but with this example am about to give, you will surely understand what emotions really mean. I can say Emotions is how you react to something either negative or positive, for example, you have been working on a place for a long time and one day, they promoted you, I can tell you that the emotion at that time will be happiness, you'll smile, you'll be happy, it's will even show in your facial expression.

Let's see another example, let's assume you're walking along the road you come cross a dangerous snake, most of us will have increased in heartbeat, sweating and the only thing to think at that time is to get rid of the snake, am i right?blue pik.png

We have different kind of emotions and each emotions vary the place we are: happiness, sadness, jealousy, anger fear, surprise, disgust, grief and many more.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD EMOTION THAT MADE YOU LOSE YOURSELF? TELL US ABOUT IT.

Yes I do, and trust me , it's a long story. My own emotions is grief, that's when I lossing someone to death, someone I loves so much, it's hard to forget about her, it's no one else than my granny. I remember back then, since when I was a kid, i was her favourite, people who are Grandma chicks can relate.

I have been with her for a long time, and I remember my first suite that time was bought by her, I remember wearing same color of cloth with her to the kingdom hall.

Early 2020, I had to travel in search of green pasture, that's how I got separated from my granny, I remember that night before I traveled, she said: "WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING, REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE, REMEMBER WHERE YOU COME FROM" and i lost her in 2021. I couldn't control myself that night when my parent call me to break the sad news. Hmmm, it's wasn't easy till today. I keep thinking about her. I wish to see her again in God's kingdom, and am happy to know that people who had died will come back to life again.

EXPLAIN 5 WAYS TO DEAL WITH EMOTION

Most importantly, there's always a way out to deal with emotions, in that case I will highlight 5 ways we can possibly deal with emotions.

  • Focusing on the present moment, that's, being mindfulness like noticing our surroundings can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

  • Taking care of our health. In other to deal with emotions we must ensure to eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, and exercise regularly because this activities can help to improve our mood.

  • Sometimes we may feel worthless and nothing because of mistakes but that will not help to heal, we need to be kind to yourself and avoid self-criticism because its okay to make mistakes and to feel our emotions.

  • Seeking support from others.This is one the most important ways where we can deal with emotions.Talking to a trusted friend, family help to reduce the heavy weight of emotions off our head. I personally find it helpful.

  • Setting a realistic goals can also help to deal with emotions. Realistic goals are goals that's is easy to fulfill. So breaking down goals into small task will make it easy to achieve it as well as reducing stress.

DO YOU THINK EMOTIONS COULD HINDER SOMEONE FROM ACHIEVING THEIR DREAM?

It's depend, why? because, for me, I believe everything is possible unless if you dont want to do it. for example, let's talk about how emotion can hinder someone from achieving his or her dream. Let's assume I want to be a doctor, that's a good profession right? but at the same time, am scared or afraid of blood, what will I do, that's actually a road block, I may change the profession to another one or....learn to overcome the fear of blood, and continue in other to achieve my goals as a doctor.

So to me, it's depends. I think we should all know how to manage our emotions.

CONCLUSION

We all have different ways of reacting to changes and I have listed different ways of dealing of emotions like talking to trusted friends, setting realistic goals, focusing on present moment and taking care of your health.

Absolutely. It's important to think about the outcomes of our actions before we do something. When it comes to love, it's even worse to keep our feelings bottled up inside. The best thing to do is to open up and express your love to the person you care about. And remember, it's always better to be happy for our neighbors' success instead of feeling jealous. Taking a few seconds to pause and think before reacting to a situation can make a big difference. And lastly, patience is key when it comes to dealing with any emotion. It's about taking the time to understand and navigate our feelings in a calm and thoughtful way.
