Contest Alert: "Looks Can Be Deceptive"

Hello and welcome to another interesting contest organized by @josepha, looks can be deceptive sometimes and someone may end up judging right or wrong. In one way or the other, We may fall victim of been judged or judging another by looks, I know the feeling is either funny, annoying, or frustrating. I will love to share with you some scenarios where I was a victim of such circumstances.

The first time I went to visit my girlfriend, I never knew her father was looking so young and gallant, so reaching her area in the evening, I called her to be sure of the house address but her phone number was off. Branching to buy some fruit for her, I saw a man sitting beside the fruit sellers, because of his small body I just tap him and said "Good evening bros, please I am looking for Tercy's house" The man showed me the house and just smiled, I never knew she had showed him my pictures so he knows me.

When paying for my fruit, I paid his bills aswell, I did not calm down to greet him with much respect and I even call him bros, thinking is just any other boy.

I went to the house when sitting the man came in and I felt somehow, I then properly greeted him, and he smile and responded, he then said thank you for paying my bills. I then knew that Body structures can be deceptive to judge somebody's personality and age. I was very wrong to have assumed that man to be any ordinary man on the street because of his status.

You know there is a difference between seeing what is true and accepting it but being stubborn because of self-confidence. While in secondary school, Emeka is a very stubborn boy who thinks he can fight anybody and he is my good friend.

We get into argument with Johnson a very calm and innocent boy who is always quiet but Johnson has muscle and he is very giant and looks healthier than all of us even though we are older than him. Emeka was pushing to start a fight with Johnson but Johnson was afraid because he thought Emeka could beat him.

I advise Emeka to stop because if Johnson will react, he may twist his neck, but Emeka refuses. I then go and deceive Johnson to help us and beat Emeka so that he will not think he is God. Emeka later got Johnson so angry and he reacted, when Johnson started beating Emeka, we did not hurry to separate them, to the extent his teeth were removed because of the sufficient beating he received, though we were telling him sorry but very happy in our heart that the king of boys was humble for beating for once.

I was very right that with Johnson's structure and all his muscles, he can beat Emeka and humble the guy, though that was a very long time ago they became best of friends ever after till date.

The story was funny but it gave the impression of women like a man sometimes based on how he presented himself. I was judged wrongly by a lady who look at me and insulted me because of how I look.

One faithful day I was coming back from my farm, and I made a beautiful lady on my way back home so I stopped to talk to her to know her better. My dress was a little bit dirty so I was not looking a kind of presentable in my outfit and appearance.

I stopped her and after greeting her I introduce myself and told her my name I request to know her name, and she looked at me from head to toe and told me to go to the village and look for my type. She further said to me I should go and look for a job and get some money and buy cloth.

I did not get angry but I smile and walked away, fortunately, the lady came to my office for SIM card registration and it happen that she came to my desk to attend to her when she saw me, she was surprised to see me at that big office, after following a long queue, she forgot her ID card, I ask her to go back and bring it, even though I can do it even without the ID CARD, I at least turn her a little. (Lolxx. But was I rude?🤔)

I was judged by that lady to be better because I was looking dirty, I think she is a goal-digger and doesn't deserve a good man (emmm.. She may change though).

I learn not to be too quick to judge by looks or appearance, is very deceptive someone may end up judging another person wrongly.

• It is also important to note that even if someone did not appear by look to be up to your level, do not hesitate to help.

• Don't be too proud to think you are the highest, who you did not expect will be the one to bring you down.

• Women, don't be a gold digger because the effect is so bad, it spoiled your personality even if you are good within, first impression matters.

In conclusion, looks can be deceitful but let us always be good to all irrespective of appearance, status, or beauty. One for all is one for the world. Let's make the world a better place. I wish to invite @yakspeace @m-fdo @bensam2040 @ishayachris to come to participate in this contest.
