A social media platform that came into existence in the year 2016. Never had anyone thought such a social media platform would do wonders and improve people's academic and financial life compared to Facebook and the likes. Who knew steemit can get my brother a new device worth a fortune? This unpopular social media then but has gained over the years up till date.

How did you find yourself here and what have you come to discover about this social media platform? Questions such as this would be answered in the course of this post. .

How well do you know steemit blockchain?

I know this social media platform called steemit to be the first content creation platform that pays its users in cryptocurrency. Steemit is called a social media and a Web 3 social media. It is highly decentralized meaning no one person controls the platform which gives us 100% that it won't crash as some may think or feel.

It is a free social media platform like Facebook, tiktok, WhatsApp and twitter. It allows users post on the platform, high quality contents and low quality contents. These contents if up to standards are curated with dollars which are broken down into steem, steem power, Tron and SBD at times.

This platform encourages savings in the sense that whatever you earn on the platform in a post, when it pays out, you'll have to power up or save half, 75% or 100% and withdraw half, 25% or nothing.

The platform's blockchain is so tight and strong that it has encryption keys which are used to carryout other things on the platform. This has prevented scams and other dubious activities. Another noteworthy thing about this platform is that consistency pays.

Yes I am a Steemian, I write for hours before posting on the platform.

How can you explain steemit to a stranger?

Explaining steemit to a stranger is quite easy. My brother does this a lot and he's just so good in it. I'll use Facebook as the basis of my discussion. Let's assume I'm talking to the stranger.

Steemit is a social media platform. What do I mean? Social media in the sense that people share contents and engage just like what is done on Facebook. You share contents on Facebook to get likes and comments but on steemit, you get paid in cryptocurrency or dollars so to speak.

Just as Facebook is free and doesn't require money for sign up, steemit is free as well. It doesn't require start up capital which shows it's not an online business but a social media platform.

Minimum withdrawal, referral bonuses, capital and cash backs are done in Ponzi schemes or online businesses but this isn't done on steemit. Unlike Facebook that requires you reach a particular level or followers to earn, steemit doesn't place such on the number of followers one has, meaning that your followers isn't dependent on what you earn on the platform.

Even if with one follower, you can scale a wall using steemit. Facebook is a web 2 social media platform while steemit is a web 3 social media. Facebook is centralized while steemit is decentralized meaning that if steemit is to crash, Facebook will have to crash first as steemit is more advanced than Facebook and other social medias.

So with these information, you don't need to doubt this platform because it's free and you can express yourself in thoughts. All you need to do is to write because it's a content creation site. **Write off hunger ** and get paid for doing so.

What is the meaning of this acronym CSI on steemit. How can a user know his /her voting CSI.

The full meaning of this acronym is Community Support Index.

It is a setup to track the percentage one votes other people's post . If you're not supporting other users with votes, it will show zero or a question mark meaning, nothing. It runs periodically on a weekly basis and sometimes daily. Your voting CSI is in correspondence to your voting weight. The higher the voting CSI, the lower your voting weight..

To make it attain equilibrium, don't vote when your voting weight is below 70%. I read this from a user's post as it has some implications that may be silent. This is how to check one's voting CSI. Just input your username in this link and click on it. It will take you to steemworld where you can see your voting CSI. This is mine.

What is the work of curators on steemit?

Curators are meant to support quality contents in the platform and they do this by tracking with timeframe to see users with quality contents. They don't just check the content but major things about the user before curating. This curation is done by using a account with a huge amount of steem power which probably has a voting weight that would give a post something tangible. This curation is done in percentages so that the votes can be extended to other posts without bringing down the voting weight of that curation account.

An example is the steemcurator01 account. This account is used by unknown members or teams on the platform to support quality Contents.

What is SP ? . How long does it take to return to Steem if a power down is being initiated.

**SP means Steem Power and It is an innovation where steems are converted to. This steem power boosts one's voting weight on the platform. The more the steem power as the name implies, the more power or influence one has on another person's post. This SP is gotten by powered up steems and is locked and considered like a kind of savings. When your posts pays out, you must convert come steems to Steem power otherwise you won't be in a club and not being in a club means no support.

It usually takes a period of ,one month to return steems from the Steem power icon if a power down is initiated. It means the powered up steems would be converted back to steems of which can be tradable as well as converted back. The process of powering down means taking a percentage of all of your steem power out from your wallet and this is not condoned on steemit although can be used in cases of emergencies.

You won't be supported again if you power down not until you power up or you wait for over a month to cancel out power down after it has been done. These are a little of what I know on the platform.......

I invite @steemnurse01, @patjewell and @goodybest to participate let's learn from them.
