I welcome you to my blog today. I hope you enjoyed what I discussed last time. For those who have not read it, I implore you to do so because it will greatly help you. The last time I shared with you in my diary of daily lessons, I talked about a particular scriptural verse: Psalm 27:14. That verse says, "Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!"

Remember, we divided the verse into three parts and drew some insights that could help us wait for the Lord. So many problems came as a result of man's impatience. It's a great post to read if you want to learn how to wait, especially when things seem not to be working out well.

That said, today I have decided to share another wonderful lesson with you. Could you please take a seat, 🪑 and let's see it together? I promise, I am not going to take your time.⏰ Shall we see to it together?

Consequences of Misconduct

In our society today, there is such an increase in all sorts of misconduct that when you hear some act of wickedness, you will keep opening your mouth without having anything to say. This generation is turning misconduct into norms. They don't see the harm in engaging in improper behavior again. If an elder who has seen well in life and who is knowledgeable because of the experience he has had in life should talk, they will think he's no longer in town. If someone who has decided to live rightly should advise those whose hearts are engrossed with wickedness, they may say he has been spoonfed with old doctrines.

I tell you, so many things have caused these acts of ungodliness and wickedness in our society today. But I am not focusing on the causes of these acts in my post. I am particularly interested in their consequences. If care is not taken, and if we don't see proper education and counseling that can eliminate or reduce the impacts of misconduct in our society, many things will spoil.

Let me quickly share three consequences of misconduct.

1. Misconduct denies you your rights

You may not know the havoc that's waiting for you if you participate in an act of misconduct. But I want to let you know that one of the things it will result in is denial of your rights.

Some people would have become great in life because of the great inheritance that their parents worked for, which ought to be their rights, but because they committed acts of misconduct, their inheritance was taken away from them. It is possible to snatch what you ought to inherit if you misbehave.

I think this generation needs to come to the realization that there are so many good things that will be taken from them as a result of this improper behavior. If you are the type of person who can't be trusted, you are involved in an act of misconduct. They can't trust you for something little; forget it; they will not entrust much to your hands. I remember some people to whom they give the privilege of voting on their articles. They misbehaved, and that ended their influence on this platform.

Please know that truthfulness is very important. It may not be rewarding now, but surely it won't go unrewarded. Keep being faithful and never join the corrupt people who are looking for a quick way to make it. You see, many quick ways are ruinous ways. Please understand that.

2. Misconduct enslaves people

If you want a quick way to enslavement, try sin. Sin or misconduct can quickly enslave someone. I remember the story of a people whom their God saved from the hand of their oppressors. They had been in the land of enslavement for many years. But one day, a divine power came to their rescue by sending someone to them, a savior.

With a lot of guidance and help from divinity, they were eventually safe and delivered from their oppressors. However, throughout their journey to the land promised by their God, they were not faithful. They kept getting involved in wickedness. They forgot the hand that rescued them and turned their backs on him. This made their God angry at them.

Their misconduct made their journey to the promised land prolonged. In addition, they were taken captive by many wicked nations even after they entered their promise land. Sin is capable of enslaving people. I beg you, if you are involved in any kind of wickedness, stop it. Misconduct is a sure path to enslavement.

3. Misconduct brings pain and agony

As you all know, when you misbehave, you may be punished. Punishment will only cause someone pain. It's better to refrain from doing wicked things than to suffer. I don't know why some people don't think about the consequences of what they are doing.

Most of the time, people who engage in misconduct think they are having fun. But the truth is, the enjoyment of sin doesn't last because, in the real sense, it's not enjoyment. See, what you will "enjoy" for 5 minutes may cause you pain for 50 years. Someone who is not content with what he has and goes to steal, if he is caught, may be punished for years, and the pain the punishment will cause may not end for his lifetime.

I implore you not to engage in misconduct; there's nothing gainful in practicing wickedness. You can't engage in misconduct and not face the consequences.

I hope you have learned one or two things from this today. You can make a contribution using the comment box. Thank you for reading.
