This post is my first post in this community. For the purpose of those that are reading my post for the first time, my name is Kehinde Micheal and I hail from Okeho, Nigeria, but I currently live in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State of the country.
In this post, I am going to be writing briefly about my dear country, Nigeria and some things about my nation that are of interest to me and the reason why I will still prefer my nation over other countries. Therefore, I hope that you will support my article. Happy reading!
Brief Introduction of Nigeria
Nigeria is a country that belongs to Africa continent. It is located in west Africa of the Africa continent. It is the most populous country in the whole of Africa. The country gained independence in 1960, and ever since then, the country has been led by both military and civilian.
The country is generally dominated by three ethics group, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo. The Yoruba people speak Yoruba language, Hausa People speak Hausa language and Igbo speak Igbo language. As a result of diversity in language, the language of instruction in schools and colleges is English. And this makes everyone in the country in connecting with each other.
Nigeria has 36 states and one federal Capital territory, which is Abuja. The capital city of Nigeria is Abuja. The current President is General Muhammad Buhari.
What are the great things that interest you about your country?
There are so many things that interest me about my dear country. Some of the things that make Nigeria unique is highlighted and discussed below.
Unity of the Youth: Despite the conflicts and political propaganda that is goin on in the country, I can say that Nigerian youth are united and can have things done very quickly. I remember how united the youth were during the #Endsars campaign, a campaign to stop Police from harming and harassing the citizen. All the campaign activities were conducted on social media, especially on Twitter, and the voice of the youth were heard. For this reason, I love my nation Nigeria.
Environment: Although there are some insecurities which is largely the fault of the government, but Nigeria is one of the countries that has great environment. There has not be major environment hazard or natural disasters that are common in some countries of the world. Apart from that, we have cool and dependable weather.
The weather is suitable for Agriculture and that is why Nigeria is one of the countries that is rich in Agricultural practices. Another unique thing about Nigeria is that we have a balance of day and night. This is not so for some countries where they will be having just night season for some times of the year.
Intelligence and Creativity: Nigerians are intelligence and creative people. It will not be an exaggeration if I say that 50% of the intelligence that is currently on the phase of earth are created in the heart of Nigerians. Many Nigerians are in other nations of the world doing exploit and wonderfully well.
Abundant Natural Resources: Another unique thing Nigeria is abundance of natural resources. Nigeria is blessed with so many natural resources which are giving us economic growth. For instance, Nigeria is the leading oil producing country in the whole of Africa, and this also make Nigeria unique.
Which of the things mentioned above do you prefer your country for, over other countries
One of the things I prefer my country for, over other countries is good environment. We have great environment in Nigeria. We have good land which is suitable for Agriculture. There is virtually nothing that you want to plant in Nigeria that will not germinate and grow very well. The land is suitable for Agriculture.
Apart from that, our environment is also safe from natural disasters like earthquake, cyclone, hurricane and any other natural disasters.
No Place like home: If you eventually leave your country in search of greener pastures, would you be willing to come back because of your response in (3).
Yes! I will come back. There is no place like home. No place can be compared to my dear nation and country. If I get opportunity of travelling abroad, which I pray the opportunity will come very soon, I will definitely come back home.
Besides, I have loving and lovely family here in Nigeria, I can't just leave them in Nigeria. I will always love them and cherish them. And this is part of the reasons I come back. Another reason is that Nigeria, out of many countries is safe to leave. The current insecurities treat is due to our current leaders. I believe that Nigeria is going to be great again and safe to live.
