What is self-discipline?

Self-discipline is basically your constant ability to control your actions, feelings, and emotions. When it comes to your finances, it's your ability to stick to your plans to pay down debt, save, and invest.

When you learn to practice self-discipline, you'll stay motivated and more likely to succeed. Then it depends more on the will, which is the control of one's own feelings and actions.

Let me explain

You decide that you want to start running at 6:00 am every morning. You're excited to finally make the decision and can't wait to get up in the morning to go running for the first time.

You wake up to the alarm at 5:45 AM. And now you do the scariest things. You know that no. But anyway. Habit. Oh Satan, the good old enemy. You start to think about it.

"Oh, I should probably get some sleep. It's 5:45am and I have to run at 6:00am anyway."

you believe Be smart too. You connect your excuses with logic and reason. It makes you feel good about yourself. Create the appearance that it is somehow better not to do what you decided to do. Self-talk is wasteful, time-consuming, and leads to inaction.

How many times have you made a decision and not fulfilled it? How many times have you explained your inaction and indecision?

Let's say another fact, you made the decision (after thinking about it a lot) and then you stopped thinking.

You wake up to the alarm at 5:45 AM. You put on your shoes and leave the house for a run. The end.

Improve self-discipline

Take cold showers
The etiquette of taking a cold shower in the morning is another. If you can do this in the winter, then you will begin to challenge yourself in other areas of your life.

Read everyday before bed

Instead of scrolling down your Facebook feed, you should try reading 10 pages before bed. Not only will this help you fall asleep faster, but before you know it you'll be finishing the book.

Meditate for five minutes a day

When was the last time you sat there doing nothing? I would suggest mediation when you are feeling stressed as this allows you to resolve whatever is going on.

Summary

Pursuing true self-discipline is difficult. The main idea here is to find solutions. Prepare yourself with the right motivation to increase your motivation to stay on task. Create habits so that daily decisions do not overwhelm you. Maintain your physical health to increase your reserves of willpower. Finally, set up your life in such a way that the right decision is the right one for you and it is difficult to give in to temptation.
