Work and Life

Today is the last day for the 2022/2023 West African Examination Council examination. It is filled with mixed feelings. 1. Children I watched growing up are finally leaving the school after six years. 2. I will never teach them again as they move to more endeavors. 3. It still feels like yesterday when they were clinging to me, asking questions and arguing about everything and anything. 4. A new life begins and I can not wait to see them get better, break limit and conquer the world in their different endeavors. 5. The young have surely grown.


Today's paper is Essay and objectives on Craft and Catering practices; as a Nigerian, we will agree that having a skill is the bedrock for poverty alleviation in this country. People are gradually taking their minds from the white collar or office jobs as we have so many graduates without jobs. Now decent living are made from handwork; no wonder the holy book says"seeing a man deligent in his work??"...
That's the man reason craft is introduced in secondary school as it helps the students to be able to face outside world and also survive without being overly dependent on parents.

Craft

This is a skill that involves using the hand to creatively make this things.

Catering

Is an activity to involves using the hand to make food. These foods can be local, continental and even intercontinental.
Craft taught includes tailoring, welding, fabrication, laundry, carpentry, plumbing etc. A full practical base classes organized every week. Every students must choose at least one craft though some opt for entrepreneurial skills like ICT. Also an open day is set aside every term for students to display their skills.
Therefore a combination of craft and Catering makes a student complete and ready the society .
