Highlight of the 3 days declare the goodnews regional convention at Godswill Akpabio international stadium Uyo

Friday, Saturday and Sunday which were 20th, 21st and 23rd December 202r were our declare the goodnews regional convention and it was held at Godswill Akpabio international stadium Uyo and I and my family were there as delegates. A lot of preparations went in place to ensure it's success.

A thorough cleaning was done in that facility to make it fit for use because our God is a clean God. There was also the installations of all the equipments that were used both electronic and others.

On the part of my family, we tried our best to be ready for the occasion. First, we prepared our minds to be there so as to receive the numerous spiritual lessons that will be taught there.

We got our dresses ready. In chosen our dresses. We went for something modest, modern, presentable and unique, something that will also depict the unity in my family, something simple too and economical. Here are the pictures of the dresses

Anything we prepared was the feeding. In our conventions, everyone is expected to arrange for their feeding since it is usually something that lasts for more than 7 hours. There are noone breaks that enables delegates to refill their energy in form of food. In making preparations for these feedings, we also include hospitality. Yes, it gives joy to share what we have with others. So, that was also put into consideration in each of the days. Shopping was done for the feeding aspect and each day, I did woke up very early to prepare these foods in a way that it won't interfere with the timing of the programs.

For the first day, I prepared Nigerian jollof rice. I intended to prepare coconut rice the next day which was on Saturday, but I couldn't because of some disappointments. Thank goodness that I had some stew left which I combined to prepare another jollof rice for the second day. I didn't allow that disappointment to interfere with my joy at all.

As for the third day, I prepared Nigerian fries rice. I intended including vegetable salad but there wasn't time for that. Our plan was just to be at the vanue early and we truly achieved that. We didn't go late on any of those days. We had time to interact with our dear brothers and sisters before each day's programs began.

Each of the days began with a music video that highlights the programs of the day,

Each of the days included songs and prayers both at the beginning and at the end. Songs were also sung at intervals to enable UA stretch our legs, to remain alert and to alternately praise and worship our God. Everyone is involved in the singing and we stood especially those who are able to do so. Below is a short video of extracts from the songs.

Program parts were assigned to brothers who prepared well in advance and they did wonderfully well. Every discuss and parts revolved around the main topic of the convention which is "Declare the goodnews". It was explained why we need goodnews and that is because bad news is everywhere. We hear of death, accident, murder, rape, war malnutrition and many more. These bad news leave us devastated and hopeless, making us to have little or no strength to cope. But goodnews according to our Lord Jesus Christ gives us hope because it is a news that all our problems will not last forever, that they will soon be gone.

We are convinced that they will soon be gone because Jesus Christ fulfilled all the prophecies that was made years back before his arrival. None of them were left unfulfilled. Through Jesus life and ministry, he assured us that those promises are not mere fantasies. They are realities that will soon come true.

Having a firm hold on the goodnews by spreading it, living my life according to the commandments of the one who is the source of the great goodnews who is our God and Father, Jehovah will put me in line for receiving the fulfilment of those promises. At the end of the 3 days programs, I am determined to keep spreading the goodnews and living according it, letting nothing to hinder me from spreading it.

The programs included a drama of the history of Jesus appearance as the Messiah which the Jews had been expecting. It was a goodnews to the faithful Jews who had been in expectations of his arrival. The aged Anna and Simeon were privileged to see the Messiah at the temple. It was a goodnews to them and they declared it to those around them. That drama is just episode 1 and 2, the others will be shown in subsequent conventions. I can't wait.

The organisation of the whole event is what marvels me, helping me to really appreciate Jehovah's people and his organisation . The volunteers with no pay did all that was needed to set things up and for us to enjoy the programs without any problems. We have the audio department, the cleaning department, the lost and found department, the attendance, electricals, security, and many more. More than 2000 persons volunteered to do this. It's just amazing!

And now, we are back with renewed faith, hope and zeal for the ministry and to practice our faith according to the holy scriptures. All thanks to Jehovah. The peak attendance was 32850 and 943 got baptized.
