It gives so much joy to plan something and achieve it. Results achieved motivates. I am truly motivated at what we, at StayFit fitness club achieved this past week.
It was the last week of June and as such, we planned to have a health talk plus body checks. And the program for the week focused on building the upper body muscles. The details will come soon. Let me first of all appreciate those who were able to respond to my call for a comment chat.

update on week #14
I announced that we will focus on building the arms and shoulders muscles this past week. That was where we focused on. But it is a good thing that while building that region, other parts of the body benefits as well. Some of the programs that helps build the upper body also helps the lower body and abs as well.
Why is strengthening the muscles in the arms and shoulders very important?
Our day to day activities involves lifting things from places to place, holding things here and there and defending ourselves too. Strong arms and shoulders make it easier for us to carry out these daily activities without much stress.
Do you know that our muscles burn calories faster? When we succeed in building our arms and shoulder muscles, then burning calories will be faster than ever
Our arms are also used for staring and balancing, so when properly toned can give us an incredible movement and posture.
The effectiveness of exercising other body parts is improved with stronger arm and shoulders.
It also improves metabolism
In addition to the above, it also helps to build strong heart and core
The programs that are targeted towards stronger arms and shoulders
There are a lot of programs that target the shoulder and arms muscles. They include but not limited to the following
Bicep curls
This is requires a moderate size of dumbbells. You will have to hold the dumbbells on each of your hands, then your hands should face upwards, then curl your arms by bringing the dumbbells to meet your shoulders or heard region. Do so repeated for several reps.
Dumbbell shoulder press
This is done by holding a sizable dumbbell on both of your hands, then raise them upwards and bring them to an angle or 90Β° above your head and do so repeatedly for several reps. Note that you will be standing to do this.
Tricep pushups
It is a normal pushups when you will have to face downwards in a full plank position and then bending your elbows to press your body up and down in repeated successions.
Apart from the above, we also have Lateral raises, farmers walk, forearm pulls, finger tips push up, plank with shoulder tap just to mention but a few.
Within the week, we were able to apply most of the above and more as you can see below
Monday training
It was the beginning of the week and as such, the training was intense. We started with worm up, then the different exercises. The pictures below will tell more
Wednesday training/Football game
We continued with the exercise programs, adding new ones to the ones we had on Monday
After the workout out, we switched to football. But the thing is that we weren't much due to rain. But we played as we were. 4 in each team.
It wasn't as interesting as when we used to be much but we had fun.
Friday training
On this day, we also continued our programs as we had more people that couldn't make it other days
Saturday health talk/body checks including training
It was this day that we planned having a free health talk and body checks. I had designed this image below to advertise it
On the night before this day, I reminded everyone about it and told them to please advertise it.
I had already contacted our health practitioners of which @steemnurse01 was one of them but they are all our members. They came with all the materials and machines that are needed for the body checks.
The things we checked were
Body weight, pulse, oxygen circulation, HIV, blood sugar and BP. Thank goodness that I was ok and healthy. Of course, the results were private as it should be but I don't think anyone present had any serious issues.
In the morning, I went there and swept the vanue, arranged for the chairs and others who came early also assisted me with the arrangement

Then the body check commenced in earnest. It was done turn by turn.
Then the health talk began as well where in we were told the importance of staying fit and eating healthy diet
At the end of the body check and health talk, we jogged round the field 5 times, then did a little workout and had our end of the month meeting before dismissing.
Our t-shirt
Our StayFit fitness club t-shirt started since last week..for this week, more members paid for theirs and I tried my best to get it ready for them. We wore it on this Friday and it looked awesome as you can see on the pictures below
You can see how stunning we looked! The printing of the t-shirt is still ongoing. And members who haven't paid for theirs are making efforts to do so as they were motivated by those that wore theirs.
Soon, we will proceed to print other colours like white and peach background. They will look great πππ.
A little comment contest
This past week, we only had @alli001 @chichigirl @fifapresido @steemnurse01 as steemians. @kidi40 couldn't make it due to work and @boddj23 couldn't make it also. I didn't see @mesola as well and @okere-blessing that had been promising to join us didn't show up.
We also had the presence of @auntev1 and @happyluv though just on Saturday but their presence were felt.

This is my introductory post here
It was a great week indeed.
We are really making progress at Stayfit Club both in numbers, equipment and variety of programs.
I didn't miss any of the training days in the past week and I also made sure I completed my programs.
I no longer see any program as a challenge, rather as a stepping stone to the next level for me. I enjoyed all the program and I am looking forward to the new week already.
As a result of this fitness exercise, I have taken my personal life to the next level.

It's good to be a part of this club. To be sincere, I've not seen such an organised and sociable club where there's no class distinction. It was my pleasure to give out the speech on nutrition and also check the health stats. of members in the club. All thanks to @ngoenyi my coach for bringing up such an opportunity to end the month. It would be so good to see how this fitness club will improve the health of majority therein.
Personally, my health life started improving through this fitness though I've not been having time to be consistent. If you live close to Airport Rd and you're not in Stay fit fitness club, you're wrong π.

I have been enjoying this update right from the beginning. Your progress so far is encouraging. I have never seen a determined soul like you before I draw my strength from you unknowingly. The black colour T shirt is awesome. Planing for white is it really okay for training? I mean the white color that you are proposing remember sweat can make it stain easily. For my coming I have had a lot of things drawing me back but I will surely overcome them one day. Thanks for always remembering me and reminding me the importance of staying fit

Due to my work schedule, I couldn't attend workout throughout the past week, I felt bad tho. Russian twist, i think it's the most difficult task I've seen in the picture, pushing up the dumbbell twice and turning it to the left and right while bringing it down seems difficult but i believe those who did it benefited. Anyway, didn't Attend workout but I don't just rested, I performed some workout when I could and this week is here, tomorrow is football Wednesday, I'll be there..π
