A cap that I wore involuntarily, didn't plan for it. It just happened and I came to admire it. You can see the real owner of the cap besides me on that image above. In the past, this type of cap was usually worn by titled men to show their position in the cabinet. But now, it has become a fashion. Anyone can buy it from the market and wear. Even children can wear them as fashion or on an occasion that requires it especially during cultural days in Schools. It has become very popular these days and as you can see, I have also worn it which was forbidden in Igbo land in those days But wait! How did this cap get to me and on what occasion? You can't believe what I am about to write ✍️✍️, just keep reading.

My Saturday vibes got me this way. As a fitness group, one of my clients has earlier invited us to the burial of his uncle at a nearby village but we share the same LGA. Yes, the playground where we work out is in the same LGA with the place where the burial was going to take place. We decided to attend as a group. It was scheduled to hold this past Saturday.

As the instructor, I requested for the invite flier to share in our WhatsApp group and as well announce for members to be aware and as well come out to support the man. The flier is here below as well as the announcement I made in our group.

1000295602.jpgthis was the announcement. I didn't understand by now that the deceased is the uncle

With this announcement I made on Friday evening, members were willing to attend. They asked questions about our movement which was responded to.

As announced, the Saturday workout was brief. We concluded early so as to be able to attend this burial. By few minutes to 12 am, I was at the designated place where we will take off from. After few more minutes, we left the vanue to the burial vanue. The distance wasn't that long, just about 20 minutes drive.

on our way, we boarded a bus1000290438.jpg

Though we were late to the burial discuss as was conducted my Methodist church, we still were able to be part of the event which was remaining about 35% before it's conclusion. We were warmly welcomed by the convener and he offered us a seat in front where we could have a clear view of the event.

We witnessed the concluding message from the Bishop, the prayers to the bereaved family, the offering made for them, the gift from the bereaved family to the church, and the final song and prayers. I captured the following images

The internment and entertainment locations were announced and we moved there. It wasn't that far from the school field were the burial was conducted. At that location which also happened to be the internment location as it is also the residence of the deceased, we were offered a special seat along with first bank staff because that our bereaved member works there.

Seated, we were offered lots of drinks and foods. We had malt drinks, bear of different brands, red wine and Gordon wine, then water, pepper soup and white rice as well as meat. There were also plantain porridge and swallow. But I guess we didn't opt for swallow

That's how our table looked like. We enjoyed ourselves despite being in a mourning house. It's not our fault because that is how it is done over here, neither does it show that we aren't mourning. The family decided to show hospitality to those in attendance. We later met our bereaved member again in the end when wanted to take our leave. We comforted him and boarded vehicle back to our take off point.

pictures were taken before our departure

Guess what again? Our group chairman decided that we seat again and have some more drinks and other chewables and then discuss a little before we dispersed. That was what we did.

We had lots of chats and fun talks. Everyone was very happy to have attended. Those that missed it and that saw our pictures regretted not being part of the occasion. It was fun filled.

But a question remains: how did the cap came to my head?

Well, you ought to have guessed it right at this moment. But you may still be wrong. I got hold of it at the entertainment vanue there at the deceased residence during the period that we were eating and the real owner, who is nicknamed Ambassador removed the cap so that air will enter his head and so that he can relax and enjoy his meal. He left the cap on the table till we were almost going home. As we did a little comedy there on the table where he was asked to go seat with his wife, then I was to seat on his own chair while another person seats on my chair to enable the men mix well with the women we had gone with. The initial setting was awkward where the men sat on a roll and the women on a roll. We decided to change the arrangement.

It was at the point when I sat on his chair that I reached out to the cap and wore it without permission. The next thing I heard from him and others was: hmmm, coach, this cap fits you ooo!
That was how it remained with me till we were back and about to finally go to our individual houses. Funny right?

@alli001 was in attendance along within others. We had low attendance due to other engagements but we were fully represented.

So then, who does the cap fit most?

@goodybest, @event-horizon, @xkool24 @okere-blessing, @ninapenda, @eliany, @bossj23, @simonnwigwe @josepha @lhorgic @impersonal @heriadi @irawandedy @inspiracion @adeljose @karianaporras @genomil @eveetim @kidi40 @drhira @ruthjoe and others. Come and be the judge here. Be objective please. Thanks for coming

Unless otherwise indicated, all the pictures are captured by me and with my device

Please note that this burial was conducted at Methodist Central School Adadia in Uruan LGA in Akwaibom State

When I came back home showing Bernard the pictures we took there, do you know the first statement that came out from his mouth? He said that the cap fits you perfectly, your appearance donning that cap on your head was that of a queen 👑 of OBA kingdom 😁. To be honest, the cap fits you ma. Saturday was a remarkable outdoor activity for stayfit, wahala for who miss am. @kidi40 and @bossj23, sorry oooo😜

Thanks a lot. I am glad it fits me. But Oba queen 👑? Hmmm, noooo. Meanwhile, thank you so much

See woman king now, hahaha 😂 Mama the cap suit you very well, it gives you a touch of royalty! I think you need something like this in one of your convention attire, well done ✅

Royalty? Thanks a lot. The cap is very fine but for our convention, I am going English this time. But I will consider getting one cap for myself for subsequent conventions. Thanks for your beautiful response

MODs Comment/Recommendation:

At first I was sure you're been ordained as the woman king, but then you had to remove the cap, but even without a cap, we are all aware you're royalty.
