To spend or not to spend

Hello steemians, I greet you all. I want to appreciate the organizer of this contest in the person of @ruthjoe. This contest has a lot of meaning in my view. I will be sharing my knowledge about the topic for all to read as well.

Tell us one thing in your country you believe the government should spend money on but doesn't.

I'm a Nigerian and one of the things I believe that the government should spend on that they are not spending on is education. The standard of education in Nigeria is very bad such that those in the higher institution on several occasion has been at home for more than 8 months because of the strikes.

I want to believe that education is an important selector when it comes to the growth of any country but since those in power here in Nigeria are not educated, they don't tend to prioritize education. They send their children abroad and then those who can't suffer.

I believe education is one of the places that money should be spent to build good people who will take over the affairs of the country but since the government is not interested in the future of the common man they tend to neglect the educational sector.

Tell us one thing they shouldn't spend money on but do.

The election is one thing that they are not supposed to spend on but they are spending greatly on. The reason why I don't support spending in elections is that even after putting in that huge amount of money, they will still end up carrying out an election that is not free or fair.

So elections should not be given such money if we know we are going to be doing selection instead of election. The just concluded election in Nigeria proves my point about what im saying. The masses elected a different person and the government imposed a different person on us.

Is the government of your country good at providing its citizens with social amenities? Tell us about the two best social amenities you are enjoying in your country.

There is not much provision done by the Nigerian government because almost all of them are busy embezzling money. In the part I'm currently staying, the only thing they have done is to provide a road and light. We are grateful that bit people are going to bed every day with hunger because of lack of food.

We need the government to provide us with work so that we can have something to help us generate income to feed our various families. There are many more things that we are expecting from our government at the moment but they are yet to do it. We hope they hear our cry and grant the masses their heart desire.
