This is @okere-blessing, reporting from my country home Nigeria Uyo Akwaibom state to be particular, the citizens of my country are going through a lot at this moment. The price of dollar was high and people were lamenting and putting all the blame on the high increase of dollar now the price is going down still things are going up.

Here are my top four headline news.

  • Increase in price of Garri and fufu.
  • Farming
  • Traditional wedding
  • Light update.

The worst at the moment is the price of garri. There are two different types of garri in the market the 50kg and the 100kg . As at last week the price of the 50kg was sold at fifty something thousand naira but today the price is seventy five.

One cup is sold at 200naria while 5cup is one thousand naira only.

Before in Nigeria fufu was the easiest food to get at any corner, but now before you could see it ,it will be on order of which is not the normal hundred Naria that we do buy for a wrap.

Farming.

Things are not longer at ease Everyone has joined farming, people are now using any empty space to plant so that there will be food sufficiency come next year. So there's farm here and there but will that bring down the price of food stuffs come next year? Well let's be hopeful.

Decoration of the event

Today in my neighborhood, there is a traditional wedding going on. The girl to be married is a very small girl that just finished learning hand work. She is the first child of her parents. So today happens to be the happiest day for her parents.

People from different local government came around to celebrate with the family and there is jubilations all around the street.

I think in your environment, it actually looks like farming is one of the most common occupation there. People patronise farming a lot I really guess which is quite evident to see

The current situation with garri is worrisome. I should ask if dollar has been reduced to buying of garri, the most commonest and cheapest food items in our locality are no more affordable. Who have done this to us? How did we get here mbok?

Meanwhile, farming season is here, it's all back to farm, period!

I can't imagine that a small ball of fufu is now 100 nairas, and 5 mini cups of garri is now a thousand naira, the situation in the country is getting out of hand, and I hope before the year runs out everything will get better but if not, we will survive by God's grace. Goodluck friend

Thank you very much. We all hope so

You are welcome Ma
