Introduction About
My Country Nigeria 🇳🇬

Nigeria is one of the African countries on the Gulf of Guinea that has numerous natural landmarks as well as wildlife reserves. It also has conserved areas like the Cross River National Park and Yankari National Park which have waterfalls, savanna, dense rainforest as well as rare primate habitats. One of the most significant sites is the Zuma Rock, which stands 725m tall monolith outside Abuja the federal capital territory pictured on the one thousand naira denomination of the national currency.

Geographically, Nigeria positions between the Sahel on the north and Gulf of Guinea on the south in the Atlantic Ocean and covers an area of 923,769 km2 which is approximately 356,669m2, having a population of above 216 million. Nigeria has Niger on the north border, Cameroon on the east, Chad on the northeast, and Benin on the west, comprising 36 states as well as the Federal Capital Territory where Abuja the capital is located. Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria as well as one of the world's largest metropolitan areas and the second-largest in Africa.

My country Nigeria has three national languages which are Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba, over 525 regional languages, and a federal presidential republic. Colonized by great Britain, but got independent in 1960, Nigeria's lingua franca is English. Currently, the federal government of Nigeria is made up of three unique branches: legislative, executive, and judicial, whose sovereignty is conferred by the constitution of the country in the national assembly, the president, as well as the federal high court including the supreme court.

The three branches are provided with a balance of power as well as separation to prevent the reoccurrence of past mistakes which the government made. Furthermore, Nigeria is a federal republic, with administrative authority exercised by the president as he is the head of state, and government, as well as the head of a multi-party system. The politics of Nigeria occurs within a conceptual structure of a federal, presidential, and representative democratic republic in which administrative authority is practiced by the government. The federal government and the two chambers of the legislature: the senate and the house of representatives hold the legislative power.

Christianity and Islam are the two core religions practiced in Nigeria besides other religions. Similarly, although Nigeria runs a multi-party system, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) appear to be the King Kong and Godzilla among the numerous existing parties in Nigeria.

The Great Things That Interest Me About My Country

My country is well known among the African countries for a whole lot of great things and her courtesy and considerate behavior towards other nations, as well as her social harmony. I will free state a few of the wonderful things my country is known for which is of great interest.

Food & Agricultural Produce

One of the outstanding and wonderful natural endowments possessed by Nigeria is her cultivable land that knows no bounds when it comes to crop cultivation. Due to the high fertility level, the land supports crop rotation thereby drastically reducing the use of fertilizer. Different agricultural products are predominantly produced by different states hence, some parts of the country are known for particular agricultural products. While some part of the country is known for the production of tomatoes, onion, yam, and watermelon, other parts are known for the production of cassava, coal, garri, and palm oil, while others are known for the production of cocoa, groundnut, rubber, cotton. Generally, Nigeria is known for crude oil production which is our major export commodity.

Besides agricultural products, Nigeria is known for various palatable dishes that can wet the tongue on sight. Each region in Nigeria is known for a specific food. Hausa is known for Tuwo Shinkafa, the Yoruba is known for Amala and Ewedu while the Igbo is known for a variety of foods ranging from Egusi, Nsala, Onugbu, Afan, Oha, and many more.

Easy Access To Drugs & Self Medications

Nigeria is one country where there is no limit nor bounds to the level of access one can have to drugs which are often abused due to the economic downturn. However, it appears to be advantageous with regards to the degree of societal destitution as well as the poor level of development of the country. In the civilized, developed, or western countries, one will have to go through processes to have access to drugs talk more about self-medication. In most cases in Nigeria, we diagnose ourselves, attributing symptoms to a particular illness then prescribe and buy drugs ourselves. This privilege may not be obtainable in western countries and although it is disadvantageous, it has benefited the common man who cannot access healthcare services as a result of being of the lower class.

The Nigerian Film Industry (NollyWood)

This is one of the sectors that gives remarkable joy and makes me proud. Over the years Nollywood has provided very impressive employment for Nigerians both the educated and uneducated. Nollywood comprises actors, actresses, and artists hence Nollywood has a good level of prosperity along with numerous commendations from film cooperations. Individuals in the industry have also received various awards however, Nollywood has been rated 3rd position of the best movie industry in the world.

The Music & Fashion Industries

The Nigerian fashion industry has increased in size and intricacy over the last decade, achieving international interest. The textile, clothing, and footwear sector have risen at an average of 17% each year since 2010, according to GDP data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). This advancement has been fueled partly by intensified demand, but it has also been fueled partly by unrivaled activities that continue to drive Nigeria into the global fashion spotlight.

The Nigerian music industry is a sector that has thrived over the years and interests me so much because it has contributed so immensely to getting Nigerians employed and self-dependent. It has provoked so much modification in the Nigerian system, created a platform for talent exhibitions such as Nigeria Idol, and Voice of Naija among others, and attracted international honor. The natural features of the comedy and music sectors have equally felt the impact of this industry

Which of the things mentioned above do you prefer your country for, over other countries?

Virtually everything we have in Nigeria is available overseas as Nigeria has maintained a good level of exportation of goods, and with the help of modern technology, Nigerian music and movies can be accessed. On many occasions, live performances and concerts are held overseas in which these artists and comedians perform and this keeps the enjoyment going.

Unlimited access to drugs is one thing that we grew up to see and so far so good it has been of immense help to the common man. If one cannot afford private or public rendered healthcare services, over-the-counter drugs are available and affordable anytime everywhere and this may not be obtainable across the sea.

Although products are exported the fact remains that our foods for which we are known here in Nigeria cannot be better served anywhere else, consequently it is one of the things that will be missed by anyone who is away from home.

No Place like home: If you eventually leave your country in search of greener pastures, would you be willing to come back because of your response in (3).

Whatever the case may be, I will say yes. Nigeria is a fast developing country and this makes it ideal for investment. There is virtually no quality product that is not sellable in Nigeria as the Nigerian markets are open to any goods. With regard to the current exchange rate, it is obvious that Nigeria is a good option for capital investment.

Yes, one may feel relaxed and much more comfortable overseas owing to the availability of developed and good infrastructure, amenities, and lots more but it is undeniable that the level of freedom and flex obtainable in Nigeria os not the same anywhere else.

I have read alot of articles about Nigeria and I have come in conclusion that Nigeria is a giant countries that has alot of impact to other countries because of its variety of products, strong military force, good touristic sites, unique culture, a place for comedy, movies acting, most recognize African musicians and may others

Nigeria has a good location in Africa where their citizens are very blessed by having such natural and unique resources that are useful to their wealthiest lifestyle, although government didn't have the best administration.
