It's my pleasure to join this contest organized by @steem4nigeria known as, My beliefs about Cesarean Section (CS) before I start I'll love to invite @goodybest @jozzy90, @bossj23 @toflex to participate!
How do you explain CS to a lay man understanding? |
---|
Here's my opinion,
A Cesarean section, commonly known as C-section, is a surgical procedure used to deliver a baby when natural childbirth is not possible or safe for the mother or the baby. It includes making an incision in the mother's abdomen and uterus to remove the baby. C-sections can be planned in advance or performed as an emergency procedure during labor if complications arise. It's generally safe but require careful monitoring and recovery afterward, .
Do you think CS should be a choice /right or as situation demands? |
---|
Cesarean sections (CS) are typically performed when natural childbirth poses risks to the health of the mother or baby. But they should not be considered a default option. The decision to perform a C-section should be made based on medical necessity rather than personal preference. because It's important for healthcare providers to carefully assess each situation and weigh the potential risks and benefits before recommending or performing a C-section. also, ensuring access to skilled healthcare professionals and adequate facilities is essential for the safe and appropriate delivery of C-sections when needed.
Is there any history or stories about the belief of women who gives birth through CS in your country/Community? Share with us. |

The belief or perception around women giving birth through cesarean section (CS) varies across cultures and time periods. In some societies, there may be stories surrounding CS births, often influenced by cultural, religious, or traditional beliefs.for example, in some cultures, there might be superstitions or folklore suggesting that giving birth via CS is unnatural or less favorable compared to vaginal birth. Conversely, in other cultures, CS births may be seen as a modern medical miracle or a safer alternative to traditional childbirth methods.
My in-law put to birth on January, it wasn't easy for her, the pains was massive, I had to take permission from where i was working to go with her to the hospital, so that when they child successfully arrived, I'll watch after her,
When she arrived at the hospital, the doctor requested for the family to sign that's the husband and the sister in which they did, though I'm yet to find out why the signature was compulsory,
When it was was her turn for delivery, the doctors took her to the labour room, which I waited in the other section praying for safe operation and safe delivery. After some while she was brought out safe with the baby. Though I wasn't able to capture that particular moment.
Here's the picture I took after the next day
Anua Hospital 🏥
The history behind her CS operation was due to her childhood, I note she said that she had an accident when she was still at her secondary School level which resolved in her breaking her waist, the accident was domestic, before they could recall that it was serious injury they called on a native doctor to help on the issue , but unfortunately the treatment dint work as expected.
When she was at stage to deliver, the previous incident was an obstacle to birth through the vergina which lead to her CS. She have 3 children so far, here's the 3rd child of her CS delivery
What is your advice to that person who is refusing this process because of what people will say? |
---|
It's very important for that person to prioritize her own health and the health of her baby above what others may think or say. Because Cesarean sections are often necessary for medical reasons, and it's very important to follow medical advice for the safest outcome
Seeking support from healthcare professionals and loved ones can help one's navigate any concerns about societal judgment.
Will you support your sister, wife to Choose CS in case of any emergency during childbirth? Or you allow her to wait untill the due time. |
---|
Supporting my sister in making decisions about childbirth, including the possibility of a Cesarean section, involves understanding and respecting their wishes while also considering medical advice. And If there's a medical emergency during childbirth, the priority is the health and safety of both the mother and the baby. Trusting the expertise of healthcare professionals and discussing concerns with them can help make informed decisions.

Prioritization of one's health and the health of the unborn baby is very important rather thinking about what people might say! Often medical advice are the best and when adhered to, you will definitely be on the safer side. That's why it is very vital to always follow medical advice.

Indeed it's very important to prioritize ones healthy, more than what people would say. CS is as safe as natural birth if done by the right person. Thank you for standing by your sister.

Your story made me remember my stay in the hospital, today, almost 97% of women give birth through cesarean section, most women do not want to go through stress of pushing because it is super painful, I have seen so many people who give birth to all their children through Cs an some who have some through Cs and some through normal delivery, but in whatever way, the baby safety and the mother's safety is my major priority. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, best wishes dear @preshy001

See how beautiful the baby is looking.. like half cast. ThankGod for safe delivery! I was thinking c.s is done only twice and anything more than two times is dangerous to the mother…
Is really a miracle baby
