The Diary Game || 10-05-23 || Steemians Meetup [Students Exclusive] || Visiting A 5-star Hotel And Tropicana

Wonderful morning to the highly esteemed members of this community. I'm elated to write here about something that lit up my entire week, something that made me happy. Yes, from the title you probably know what already - Steemians Meetup. What really happened? Let's see.

Actually, the meetup was organized by @bossj23. There's this WhatsApp group chat where about 9 Steemians being mentored by bossj23 are but the problem was, we didn't know each other face to face. While they all live in Uyo, I live in Edo State.

The meetup was organized with different agenda.
• For the Steemians to be acquainted with ourselves
• For bossj23 to offer us some advice on how to continue blogging on steemit without letup
• For everyone of us to talk about the challenges we have and device a plan to overcome them together
• To have fun

Well, I had this one challenge. It was stopping me from attending the meetup - distance. As I said before, while the other Steemians stay in Uyo, I stay in Edo State. That's like 10hrs drive to Uyo. The distance was too much so I already gave up on any meetup idea. Fortunately, my brother that stays in Abia State gave birth so we went to see him. From Abia State to Uyo is about 2hrs drive so it became possible for me to attend. I aligned with @safemoontech52 and he took me to Uyo.

Fast forward to Meetup Day

The day started really well as bossj23 came to where I was staying to pick me up since I knew no where in Uyo. Because he came to pick me, we came late. Don't let the other Steemians know(they were really pissed😅). As soon as we arrived at where we were supposed to meet the other Steemians - Perm Site, we ordered two bolts to convey the 9 people that attended the meetup to Ibom Icon Hotel

This Hotel is a 5-star Hotel in Uyo where only the rich wine, dine, and lodge. As soon as we got into the hotel, we took this group picture.

After that, we decided to go into the reception to receive cool air a little before entering the Nigerian sun again 😂. To our utmost surprise, the attendants at the reception said we can't sit without buying anything so we asked for their menu. They shocked us with this little paper and told us to scan a code on it to see their menu. At that moment, it dawned on us that we're not in a local restaurant, but a 5 star hotel. The prices of their food and even water was too exorbitant for us to buy since we didn't really budget for that so we just left and decided to tour the hotel.

As we were touring the hotel fields, we saw a golf course, and some golfers practicing. I felt like joining them but I knew they wouldn't have let me since I'm not in their golf club so I just let it go. We saw wonderful works of nature such as flowers, birds, it was serene.

After touring, we decided to go to the Marina where we was a river I heard links to Cameroon. I wanted to go in and run away from Nigeria 😅 but on second thoughts, I decided to stay so I can finish my meetup. At the marina, we took this picture.

After visiting the marina we moved on to this bar just outside Ibom icon so we go get something to eat. Bossj23 ordered soft drinks and rolls (I took beer tho😂). It was at this bar we talked about steemit, how we got in, what has kept us on the platform, how to succeed on the platform, etc. Here's a picture of bossj23 addressing us.

Lastly, we moved to a place, Tropicana. It's a popular place where Johnny Drill, a popular celebrity visited last Sunday. We went in, ordered food and drinks, and ate to our fill.

Like every other good thing, the meet up had to come to an end as it was late. One thing was sure; we were happy. In fact, I was happy. We took this group picture at Tropicana. It's obvious everyone of us had a great day. I can't help but that @bossj23 for the way he organized everything perfectly. I want to be like him 🌚😂.
