Hello dear Steemians! It's so wonderful to be part of this week's contest.
Staying fit is Vital if we must live our lives optimally. Research has shown that;
Regular physical exercise can increase your life expectancy by 3 to 7 years.
Physical exercise can reduce the risk of chronic diseases. One of such disease is the heart disease.
Exercise can improve your mental health by releasing endorphins, also known as "feel-good" hormones.
In general, Fitness can boost self-confidence and overall well-being.
So today, I will be letting you into my world where you will see my Fitness Routine for the day. I hope you enjoy it.
I did my exercise alone, and it was a mix between indoor and outdoor.
Warm-up Programs (10 minutes)
First, I engaged in some Light Cardio by jumping in one place to get my heart rate up and loosen your muscles. That's the image above
I also engaged in Dynamic Stretching to prepare my body for exercise.
The warmup was done in my street as I was preparing to go for jogging.
Fitness Routines (60 minutes)
The first thing was Jogging. I took about 30 minutes to do this in order to improve my cardiovascular health.
Then I returned home and did some Resistance Training:
- Squats: 3 sets of 12 reps
- Push-ups: 4 sets of 20 reps
- Plank jacks: 4 sets of 30 seconds
Finally, I did sit up. ( I didn't count)
One important thing the body needs while working out is water. Remember it is important to stay hydrated as dehydration does you no good.
That is why I had my water bottle close by.
Cool-down Stretches (10 minutes)
- Hamstring Stretch: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, lean forward, and reach for your toes.
- Hip Flexor Stretch: Kneel on all fours, bring one knee forward, and stretch the front of your hip.
- Calf Stretch: Stand facing a wall, step one foot back, and lean forward.
So you may be wondering why stretches are important after a fitness routine. Here is the little I can say about that.
Stretching reduces muscle soreness which can occur after intense exercise.
Stretching improves flexibility which makes daily activities easier.
Stretching helps to prevent muscle imbalances which may occur during a fitness routine. This helps to reduce the risk of injury.
Stretching helps to calm the nervous system. This reduces muscle tension, cramping, and spasms.
Any Benefit?
Of course! I feel more enthusiastic about the day
Any Question?
Yes, a quick one. @ngoenyi please can I repeat the same warm up activities during stretches?
To all the readers, what is your favorite fitness routine?

So if part of the programs you did during warm up involves stretches, then you will like to include them of there is no other ones you know. There is nothing wrong with it.
Thank you for taking part in this exercise contest. It is appreciated
