contest! : "To spend or not to spend"

Hello everyone in the steem4nigeria community how are you all doing today I hope all is well and you are all enjoying your day, today I will be taking part in a contest organised by @ruthjoe titled "To spend or not to spend".

INTRODUCTION

In my today's entry I will be sharing with you guys the on thing in my country that I believe our government should spend money on and some of the things they shouldn't spend money on.

When it comes to government expenditure normally in a democratic nation like Nigeria government should be spending public funds according to the state beauru.

TELL US ONE THING IN YOUR COUNTRY YOU BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD SPEND MONEY ON BUT DOESN'T.

Meanwhile in our country Nigeria the one thing which I believe that the government should really try as much as the can to spend money on is electricity 💡.

We Nigerians, we all know that our number one problem that we are facing is electricity, the overall electric supply in Nigeria is very poor and and our government seems not to do anything about it and you an imagine that the whole of this week that NEPA only gave light 🕯️ just once and it didn't even last for 4 hours, which is very bad.

TELL US ONE THING THEY SHOULDN'T SPEND MONEY ON BUT DO.

You know sometimes when I see government over spending money on irrelevant things it always makes me to be very hangry, there are lots of things to spend money on which will contribute greatly in making the life of the citizens to be better example electricity, education, health centers, roads, industries etc.

But you will see an elected governor coming into power with nothing reasonable to over the citizens, just like our newly elected governor in akwa ibom state Pastor Umo Eno.

Instead of him to use the executive power to empower the youth, sponsor free education and free medical services rather he came up with a no good idea which he calls happy hour.

Every Friday in akwa ibom state some big places selling drinks the government will sponsor all the drinks and people will go and drink and have fun which to me its a waste of public funds and I really pray that the legislature should interven and stop such practice.

IS THE GOVERNMENT OF YOUR COUNTRY GOOD AT PROVIDING ITS CITIZENS WITH SOCIAL AMENITIES?

When talking about social amenities I would really recommend our out going governor Mr Udom Emmanuel, the man has really tried in providing good roads to us, all thanks to him the total level of road accidents has been reduced.

I think good roads is the only good thing he has given to us all through his stay in government but at least it is better than this our new governor who came up with the idea of happy hour rendering free drinks to the people had it been it was free food it would have been better but this one drinks 🍷 he wants all the citizens in akwa ibom to become drunkards.

And aside from that there are so many useless things that our government like to spend money on such as during campaign the amount of money those politicians spend if properly calculated is even more that their twenty years earning in office.

CONCLUSION

The political system in our country today is so corrupt to the point that government do not even care about the well being of the citizens anymore, there are only concern in doing what the like and disregarding the poor.

This will be the end of my post and I will like to invite som of my friends to also participate in this amazing Contest there are;
