This can simply be defined as an act of being unassuming and also the quality of being moderate or small in amount, rate and level in the estimation of one's abilities.

In other words modesty can also be defined as a human state of not being proud or too confident in yourself or abilities rather allowing others to doubt your potentials with no defence from you

The advantages of modesty

Some of the importance of modesty in a person's life are

• It helps in reducing arrogance
• It serves as a limit to boastfulness
• Modesty helps foster a healthy relationship
• Modesty protects a person's mystery keeping some part of their life a secret

All that and many more are some of the importance of modesty as one of the most important features a person should cherish on a daily basis especially when it has to do with the relationship with others.

The disadvantages of modesty

This article would never be complete without stating the disadvantages of modesty, and there are;

• Following the norms of modesty can lead to low self esteem
• It also causes emotional consequences, as a result of life privacy it may reduce or limit the love others have for you
• Modesty reduces self-enhancement

If you try reading this article on a close and thorough inspection you will find out that having modesty is very crucial and necessary because it isn't every part of our lives that we will disclose to people for our own safety most especially as corrupt as the world is today.
