Skills or Talents

INTRODUCTION

Hi there wonderful Nigerian steemians how are you all doing today and I hope all is well, today I will be taking part in the accelerator contest hosted by the @steem4nigeria community with the theme "Skills or Talent"

In my today's entry I will be sharing with you all in my own words what I think skills and talents is, which of them I'd prefer and lastly if I have a skill or talent.

As an individual in other to survive it is very much necessary to have a skill of any kind or a talent in other to be useful in the society.

IN YOUR OWN WORDS TELL US WHAT YOU THINK A SKILL IS AND WHAT A TALENT IS

Below I will carefully guide you all through what is being meant skills and also what is being meant by talent.

SKILLS

In my own understanding a skill is said to be any kind of work or activities which requires a special kind of training in other to be good at it.

TALENT

While talent on the other hand can be said to be a natural inbounded ability to carry out an activity or work with optimum perfection.

To further explain the meaning of those two so that it would be clear to your understanding, we always heard of skill acquisition but never have we for once heard of talent acquisition, which means that skills can only be acquired through learning, training & practice while talent is natural and as we grow we realise that we are good at it.

WHICH OF THEM DO YOU PREFER AND WHY

To me personally I would really prefer talent instead of skills and you may be wondering why but I will explain, I prefer talent because since it is a natural gift by nature we don't have to waste time learning or training for it.

Take for example a child that is gifted with the talent of dancing doesn't need to go through the stress of practicing all day for it, rather a little swing of the body will create an amazing rythm movement with optimum perfection.

So through that you see why I choose talent over skills because you do not have to go through the stress of practicing or training rather the little effort you put in carrying out any given work resolves in optimum perfection.

DO YOU HAVE A SKILL OR DO YOU HAVE A TALENT? TELL US ABOUT IT

Yes absolutely I have a talent which I'm very proud of and my special talent is drawing, I am very good at drawing and the most interesting thing is that I have never for once practice or train for it.

And as you can see in the above picture is one of my art piece and I'd discovered that I was gifted with this amazing talent since I was in secondary school when me and my friends would draw and mine would stand out amongst all of them.

I was so good at it to the point that a lot of my classmates back then in school would be coming to me to draw something for them.

CONCLUSION

Training in other to acquire a skill is good but being naturally gifted with a talent is the best because it's a free gift from nature, thank you all for your time I really appreciate it.
