My Neighborhood Watch #38 - Reporting Events Around us

It is a great honour to be a part of this wonderful contest here in this community today. The contest which talks about reporting events around us will go a long way in helping those who are not around our area to know the latest happenings in our area.

It is indeed true that their is much hardship in the land and this hardship has resulted to a lot of crime and that is what I will be talking about today.

After my IT program in Akwanga where I school, we were given some weeks break which I decided to go back home and then rest and also get some foodstuffs before I can resume back to school.

Getting home, I heard a lot about crimes that has been happening recently in the area where people are scared everyone because of the ugly incident most of them recently experienced.

My mum told me yesterday that about a week ago almost all the houses around was broken and their phones as well as their money was collected. It was indeed an unpleasant visit but then it happened.

Many persons have started relocating from the area because of all these unforseen circumstances. As of yesterday, they armed robbers still came around at about 1:00 a m., It was also a terrible experience for me because that was the first time I'm experiencing such.

At that ungodly hour, they came hitting and trying to open our gate but thankgod my dad was around and he came home with his gun since he is a policeman.

When the hitting of the gate became too much, he shut on air and then the people ran away. The left the entire area running for their lives yesterday and I couldn't sleep again because of the fear that entered my body.

This according to my mother has been the happenings around the area for the past few weeks and nobody is ready to come out and fight this guys. The community has recently organised themselves and selected those who will be working every night as viglanty.

So that is the situation of my area at the moment. It was late at night and everywhere was very dark and that is the reason I couldn't take a live picture of the happenings but as we continue the week I will sure snap a picture and post.
