Introduction

Hello Fellow steemians,I welcome you all.It pleases me to take part in this contest, this topic arouses my interest so much, thanks to the wonderful team for doing a nice job.

In today's world of going digital,it's almost impossible to imagine a life without social media. From meeting new friends, reconnecting with old friends, keeping in touch with families to having access to news and entertainment. Social media is becoming part and parcel of us.Since the shift from the conventional media to social media,it has been a rollercoaster lifestyle particularly for the youths, this is due to unnecessary pressure of constant posting of fake costly lifestyle which elicit competitions leading to several offline and online crimes to meet with the demand of social trend. However the way social media has impacted on our daily life is a topic of ongoing debate.

On one hand, social media has made it easy to connect with people from all over the world. It has opened up ways for communication, relationship, networking on a global scale

On the other hand, the prevalence of social Media has also raised a concern about its impact on mental health, privacy and moral decadence. The constant pressure to present a perfect image, addiction to virtual activities, the rise of cyberbullying.

Let me lend my voice on the topic by responding to the contest questions .

Do you support that our daily lives should be put on social all the time?

Personally I do not subscribe to that lifeslyle behaviour where everything you do offline on your daily basis should be posted online except it brings financial gains.I like maintaining my privacy unless I'm creating content I really dislike posting everything online. That's personal, others have their opinions. We should also look at both negative and the positive side.On one hand sharing our lives on social media can help us connect with others we may not see often, document our memories, maintaining relationship and social presence. It can also be a way to express creativity, support causes and build a sense of community. On the other hand constantly sharing our lives on social Media can lead to privacy concerns, unnecessary competition leading to fake lifestyle which increases focus on seeking validation. It could also lead to jealousy where followers would want to live large as you which arises to security risk. However the decision on how much our lives should be shared on social media is a personal thing and none should be judged.

Have you ever experienced or seen any case where a person has the habit of showcasing his life on social media and the effects turnout well?

I personally experienced this, there was a time I would have become a victim of online fraud due to posting on my Facebook page and Twitter account. That was some years ago precisely the year 2018.I wasn't really posting for validation or show up but posting my Airline business I was doing then, but it was somewhat consistent before I could realised one yahoo boy contacted me through my profile, promising to partner with me in iPhone dealing pastering me on calls and DMs that I should use money to claim parcel he had sent to me from UK,my instinct told me he wanted to defraud me,I quickly blocked him and he went on hacking my account for revenge. All these happened because of showcasing my progress on the business online, the fraudster taught I was rich and could be his potential victim.

Do you think all the showcase on social media are true?

Most of the things posted on social Media aren't true.To me I see some utopian lifestyle on social media as make-believe just as it happens in fairy tales, they aren't real. That is why any sensible person shouldn't follow any social media display of luxury. Most people especially ladies do makeover,Brazilian Butt Lift popularly known as BBL,do photoshoot where their photo will be well filtered and post it online for validation and appeals but in real life they aren't like that.I have seen a man who regretted meeting a lady online,he told me he was attracted to her beauty on Instagram and invited her over when she showed up her looks were very different from what he actually saw,he was disappointed, vowing not try such any more.Young men showcase luxurious cars, homes on banana Island, other frivolous lifestyle online boasting themselves to be super rich but if you check in real life those cars and homes aren't theirs or perhaps it if theirs they may not have gotten it from their sweats, it could be out of fraud or money rituals, fake unimaginable competitive lifestyle is one of the main challenge of social media.

It is always like that. When we show off unnecessarily it attracts unwanted people and fake users to us. This is a typical example of the security risk of using the social media platforms. But in all, we have to be conscious and create a balance in all we do Good luck
