Blacksmiths usually make various items made of iron. Their main raw material is this iron. They melt and pound these irons to make various things. They have to work a lot in this. Blacksmith shops are usually permanent in different haat-bazaar.

They make different kinds of tools especially they make all kinds of tools like bati da, axe, jati, scissors, spade, hoogly and many more. They also sometimes make axes. They mainly buy iron and then heat it with coal. Then they are cooled and pounded into different safes or shapes. In ancient times mainly the main work of blacksmiths was to make tools. Various kings used blacksmiths to make their sword shields etc. But they were of very low caste and they were not valued much. Various fiction writers and poets wrote about these blacksmiths at different times. They sell at different prices at different times such as between 500 and 600 Bdt/(25-30steem). Caste sells for 170Bdt/(7.600 steem), ax sells for 700Bdt/(35 steem), kachi sells for 70Bdt/(4 steem), Hooghly sells for 300Bdt/(15 steem), spade sells for 260Bdt/(13 steem). Although selling them by iron weight I shared the price of medium sized items.

The pictures I took are of a variety of items made by blacksmiths at a village fair. Since I went to the fair, there were about 6 to 8 shops of these blacksmiths selling various items. Since these items are often needed by people in their daily work, they were making a good profit by selling them. I also bought bati and pankhaja jati from the blacksmith shop.

It's interesting to know this area of specialization is still making waves in your country. I barely see this in my state although they may be other places it's prioritized. Thanks for sharing your content on blacksmithing. I'll love to know the full meaning of the currency you use there, Bdt.
