What is water?

It is a colorless , odourless and tasteless liquid which is very important for human survival. It is one of the free gift of nature. The Earth is made up of about 70% of water.

Characteristics of water
  • Neutrality

Water has a neutral pH, and when tested with a meter it shows 7(Neutrality)

  • Density

It has high density and this helps aquatic organism to float and maintain their position in the water.

  • Polarity

It's a polar solvent, this means that it has a positive charge at one end and a negative charge(-ve) at the other end and this makes it to be a universal solvent.

Importance of water
  • Important for life

Water is one of the most vital liquid for living organisms. It quenches thirst and helps in the body metabolism.

  • Habitat

It serves as shelter and dwelling place for aquatic habitat like fish, crocodile, e.t.c.

  • Domestic use

It is used for cooking, washing, bathing and cleaning.

  • Economic use

Various industry uses water for industrial purposes.

  • Transportation

It serves as a major means of transportation through Boat, Ship, Canoe e.t.c.

  • Climate regulation

It helps to absorb heat and make the Earth cool.

Give the reasons why you choose that

People choices differs. When it comes to bathing, I prefer bathing with warm water, aside the fact that it's makes me feel energized for the day and also helps me to have a restful night sleep, it always makes me comfortable and happy. I only bath with cold water in extremely hot weather.

When it comes to drinking water, I prefer room temperature water because according to research, it is the best for the body. I use to love cold water but I stopped taking it after I found out that it isn't good for the body. I also take it once in a while when the weather is very hot.

Warm water
Bathing with warm water is the best. It assists in the following.

  • Relaxation

It helps to relax the muscle especially after a stressful day.

  • Aids Circulation

It helps to increase blood flow in the blood vessels.

  • Pain relief

For people who have back, knee or hand pain, bathing with warm water and balm is the perfect solution.

  • Comfortable sleep

Having a warm bath before bedtime is the antidote for a good sleep.

  • Aids in digestion

It helps to dissolve food which makes it soluble and suitable for the body to

  • Reduces bloating

Warm water aids digestion and prevents bloating that comes with indigestion.

  • Energy boost

It aids in regulating the body temperature, thereby preventing tiredness.
