At the School

Monday is usually a beehive of activities. It usually have people rushing to their various places of work and businesses inorder to recover the money they spent in the Weekend. I always feel lazy waking up on Monday morning, especially after resting over the weekend But I have to obey the Clarion Call. I was posted to a Community Secondary School for my NYSC.

It has not been easy for me, having to deal with big boys and girls and the funny part is that i was assigned to teach SS3. I was so sad when NYSC posted me to a School as my Place of Primary Assignment. The truth was that I tried to change it but I couldn't and I have to accept my fate.

I feel NYSC should do better, graduates should not be forced to teach, they should send Corpers to their area of specialties so that this one year will serve as an Internship program for them. I for instance, I studied Microbiology in School but I'm teaching Civic Education. I always read and make research before going to Class inorder not to make a fool of myself.

Fervent Cold

I don't know if it's only me but the kind of cold we experience here in South South region of the Country especially Akwaibom State is on another level. I feel is because of incessant rain fall, Saturday for instance there was a heavy downpour here in Uyo. Well the good thing is that it makes everywhere cool, calm and helps us to have a peaceful night rest. Atleast it has remedy unlike the Dry season that leaves us all sweaty, hot and comfortable.

I don't know why things happen the way they do in this country... Someone studied Microbiology yet she's sent to teach Civic Education in secondary school. It's not right at all.

Congratulations on serving your country as an NYSC member; it is not easy to teach at all because that is what I am doing for the time before I return to school.

Teaching Ss3 is not easy because the students feel that they have grown up as they see everybody as the same, and sometimes it takes them time to keep quiet when a teacher is in their class; I normally go with Cain to their class in case they mess up I treat their fuckup, Just bear with them. With time, they will know the use of what they are missing now because when it gets to Waec time, nobody will help them.

I have seen many cases of someone studying Computer science at the university but coming to NYSC and teaching chemistry and biology but he really disgraced himself because students are the ones who teach him.
