Story story.....

There lived a poor family in a small town named umudike in the eastern region of Nigeria. This poor family consist of Mr and Mrs okro and their two children; Uche and Uloma.

Uloma daughter of Mr and Mrs okro was the youngest child while Uche was the eldest son. Their parents even though we're poor loved and cared for the children especially Uche, as the only son of the family.

Uche was so much loved by his mother to the point that he was not able to do things for himself anymore, he always depended on his mother for everything. On the other hand, Uloma was hardworking and was constantly encouraged by her father to pursue her dreams.

As time went on, Uloma discovered a passion towards car repairs. She told her father Mr okro and he encouraged her to go on with the passion even though it seem like a masculine job. Uloma attached her self to a road side mechanic close to their village market called "ahia azu".

Obinna, the mechanic workshop owner took Uloma in and taught her all she needed to learn, her learning was fast because she already had passion for repairs. Uloma became obinna's favourite apprentice at his workshop. Aside that, Uloma was the only female apprentice.

While Uloma was learning car repair, Uche and every other person mocked her but she didn't care because her father stood by her. She was committed to becoming the best in her field.

Soon Uloma became the talk of the whole village because she had become an expert in car repair and had costumers even come over at her house to look for her. Her fame spread so much that she attracted some foreign dignitaries who volunteered to sponsor her so that she can go and school abroad to further her studies in field of engineering .

As time passed, Uloma graduated top at her field abroad and came back to her village as a celebrity. Every one wanted to associate themselves with her because they were proud of her. Her father was so much excited to have his daughter back as not just a road side car mechanic but a qualified engineer. While her mother was full of self shame because of the way she treated her in the past. She regretted spoiling Uche and how he turned out.

Finally Uloma's mother made peace with her daughter and the family was happy again and was proud they had a daughter like Uloma. Uloma became an encouraging influence in the village, people looked up to her and wanted to be like her.

The End.....

Thanks for sharing this knowledgeable story with us, and yes, I learned something from it. I think the lesson goes to all parents to love and care for their children equally regardless of gender or their strength and educate them to be hardworking and be the best of themselves. They should stop spoiling and over-pampering them because of their future. I enjoyed reading the story.

Dear friend,

Am so glad you read my story and also leant from it. I agree with what you said about parents not over pampering their children. And parents should love their children equally regardless of their gender.
