SEC S15W5: "My Country and Her Mineral Resources."

Am @saintkelvin17, a very hardworking Nigerian steemian. I have been busy during the week that's why am posting my entry this weekend. Mineral resources are given to man by God but to search for it because discovering it's realness, they don't just fall from heavy but man hunt and work hard to acquire them all. I will be happy if I discover some underground in my backyard.😁

Give us a brief introduction about your country.

Nigeria is the name of my country and am proud to be a Nigerian. This country is found in the West Africa part of the world and is known as the giant of Africa because of it's mineral resources. Nigeria gained independence in the year 1960 on October 1st, due to bad leadership, the country has been in a very bad state. I just hope things get much better soon.

Nigeria is known to have a population of 204 million people 😳 this is so huge and I don't think there's any African country with such amount of population. Nigeria has 36 states and the country has alot of leaders but the country has been in a very bad state over the years. Our president is Hon. Bola Tinubu and his tenure is currently the worst in the history of Nigerian government. I hope everything gets better because alot of Nigerians are leaving the country for a better one.

What is/are the mineral resources your country is blessed with

Nigeria is richly blessed with so many mineral resources and I will talk about only four (4). They are 👇

Tin: This is used in the production of tin plate as tinplates are used to package food and also beverages. Tin is mostly found in Plateau state Nigeria and it is reserved there. This mineral resources is among the most important resources.

Gold: This is a very expensive a nice mineral resources I hope to get some day, it is used in the manufacturing of jewelries and other wonderful assets, we also use it to make our currency which is naira. I love this mineral resources so much. Is found in almost all the states in Nigeria.

Coal: This particular mineral resources is use in the production of electricity and is also used as a fuel in industries such as cement and steel production. This particular resources is found in Enugu and Kogi state here in Nigeria.

Limestone: This is a mineral resources that's mostly used in the production of building materials, cement and others, this resources is mostly found in Benue, Sokoto and Ogun state. Is a very nice resources.

Has these mineral resources been fully harnessed

These mineral resources are not yet fully harnessed due to the current state of my country Nigeria, things are very bad here in Nigeria and is only God I think that can save us though am wondering why he hasn't saved us up till now. The current state of Nigeria is just very bad. We lack power supply, good roads and others that's why we are still backward in this earth.

Another things us that we lack security in my country, most times we hear news of mineral resources being mine an stolen by some criminals, even when we manage to keep securities there, sometimes they are the ones who steal these resources. My country really needs deliverance.

Has the proceeds from these resources been used properly by your government for the welfare of her citizens...support your answer (Yes/No) with good points.

No no no, that hasn't happened yet and I hope it happens soon. Nigeria is mainly regarded as the giant of Africa but yet we don't have enough power supply and other important things. My country is supposed to be the the richest country in the entire world because of it's numerous resources but we among the poorest country in the world. The rate of corruption is too high in this country and am afraid my generation might be the worst.

Everyday by day things get worst in Nigeria as we just keep on going backward, it will be very difficult to change this country. Everything is now based on politics as our leaders only care about themselves and not their citizens. Alot of people always wish these leaders will just die at once anyway like I'm always saying l, I hope everything get better soon. Thanks for reading.
