Happy Sunday. My country Nigeria would have been the best in the entire universe but the devil decided to play with this country and render it one of the poorest country in the world. I know that one day my country Nigeria will change because I believe in God and his abilities. My country has lots of resources that's enough to even take care of the needs of more than 3 countries but our bad leaders are the one spoiling the country. Stay tuned as I express myself further in this post.

Describe the current situation of your country or homeland in terms of economic, financial and social aspect.

I will be describing my country as a whole since am not currently living in my homeland but I will also talk about the area I live in. Nigeria has lots of resources that can even improve the standard of schools in the country, I just wished our bad leaders aren't acting like the way they are currently.

I currently live in Elikpokwuodu in Obio/akpor local government area of Portharcourt. The place is a very busy area which contains lots of markets and industries, people tend to become entrepreneurs in my area because they know all the benefits attached to it.

We have a very good road in which Keke, Buses, Cars, Lorries, Tippers and so many others can drive freely to their various destinations. I mostly trek on this good road and gues what, our road will be expanded by the ending of this year. Is going to be a big task.

What challenging situations have you faced in your country?

The challenging situation I have faced in my country is that of flood and fuel price. Let me start with the flood. My country do have good road in few places and bad roads in few places as well but I think the bad roads are more than the good ones. Most times these bad roads are found inside our streets and once heavy rain falls, water will full the road thereby making it difficult for people to walk and drive freely.

I hate flood alot because is a very huge disaster that can bring down tall buildings and poles. When am coming back from somewhere in the afternoon as a heavy rain fall, I always feel uncomfortable each time I enter my street and see a long and deep water in front of me 😥.

Fuel is another thing that wants to kill us, how can the price of fuel that was below NGN120 before is now NGN600 per litre. Due to this increase, transportation cost are high, only the money people spend for transport to go to work, will even finish their one month salary, so they are just working for transport? Price of things in the market are also high, even my boss and I had to increase the price of barbing just to meet up with this.

Despite these challenges, how do you survive/manage life?

I survive this challenges by living with my parents, am glad I have parents that takes care of my siblings and I as we also find our personal daily bread that we can use to buy things for ourselves. This is why I also joined steemit so that I can be buying little things got myself. My parents will never agree to buy airtime for me.

I survive the issue of transportation by trekking to and fro my working place everyday, is a very long distance that sucks my energy and sometimes I will even shed little tears, am learning a skill and am not fully working, my parents neber give me money for transport fare so I trek daily. I just pray I enjoy the fruits of my labour on time.

What lessons have you learned from the experiences you've had in your homeland/country?

I have really learnt alot, the first thing I learnt was saving, I have been saving money since when I was in junior secondary school and after some months I use them to do important things like solving problems and I will thank God I saved such money because I might even be begging in the streets when I still have parents.

I also learnt to be content with what I have, my parents always warn my siblings and I to always appreciate the little things they give us, they further said that with time everything will be better. Nigeria has taught lots of things that has made me never to regret why I entered the country first while coming into this world.

In conclusion I will say my country's pledge [🇳🇬]

I pledge to my country Nigeria,
to be faithful, loyal and honest
to serve Nigeria with all my strength
to defend her unity
and uphold her honour and glory
so help me God.

I invite @ruthjoe, @suboohi, @jyoti-thelight and @fantvwiki to participate in this contest.
